People do buy music. (as in, pay money to have access to the music..but we can't be too picky about the word buy - lease maybe? :p)
And anapod or xplay both let you put music on iPod's without iTunes. (I guess providing it's not DRM'd)
Best and cheapest?
;)
Fast - Cheap - Reliable.
Choose two only ;)
My advice is buy a laptop, buy a wireless router and choose any ISP you want. This whole 18month/24month nonsense and get a "free" laptop is crazy IMO, Heh.
The chances of Google being down, as in, not responding are near to impossible really. The infrastructure just won't allow it generally.
The closest you ever get is a message telling you if there's an issue.. but it just wouldn't time out.
Hardware errors are always painful. Infact, I've never had anyone get data back off one with a hardware fault.. although we've only tried about 3 or 4..
You have to have identical hardware, clean room etc to do it.. so not easy..
What did you actually do before the reboot?
Oh, and have a look in C:\Documents & Settings\ if it's XP or C:\Users if it's Vista to see if anything is in there.
OSX has Adium which is the best client ever if that helps? ;)
Infact, Adium is one if my favourite apps ever!
Worth getting a Mac just for that IMO.
Not that useful am I?
Ok, I use pidgin in Linux now. Used it for years, it used to be gAIM - so very focussed on AIM then it evolved and changed...
That's been a rumor for ages.. the iPhone screen touchpad.
Means you can do full gestures, zoom, display stuff etc really well.
Altho, saying that, that's how I expect the MBP to look come revision time, most rumours seem consistent with that design.
My iPhone was fine.. 2.0, 2.0.1 (apps crashed a bit), 2.0.2 (perfect) then they brought out 2.1.
2.1 I get call drops, I get crashes, BLAH. I never had call drops before :(
Worse update ever.
I have an Epson R285 (Was a replacement to my R220, and that was a replacement for a R200).
Very very good printer.. out of all the ones I use daily, it's about the best to be honest.
HP ones are also quite good - we generally only sell HP at work, and they seem fine also.
Inks aren't cheap...
GNOME is about the most complete.
XFCE is also good.. but largely GNOME based.
KDE is very complete, but ugly.. functional though.
Enlightenment has been in development (at the same level) for 10 years+ now, and it still looks the same as it did back then to me.
WindowsMaker, GNUStep aren't...
Definetely better on battery, but then, I found 2.0.2 pretty good too.
Got about 1/3rd left on the meter, and it's been on for 1 day and 2 hours usage.
I have WiFi on most of the time (at work, at home) and then 3G/Edge when travelling and Bluetooth on all the time too.. so pretty good.
As good...
Ubuntu is pretty plug and play yep.
Everything works on my laptop without any work in the latest version.. Dell D420, so pretty run of the mill hardware!
Get the CD, boot it, boot into live mode (you don't have to install it) and just see what works, what doesn't etc :)
Well, if you can go OSX, that'll be infinitely better than Linux on a desktop/laptop machine.
If you do want Linux, then Ubuntu is the one to go for IMO. Wouldn't even bother looking at others..
Call Waiting, Missed Calls and the ability to "send text messages really quickly" are all on the iPhone.
Infact, once you get used to the iPhone keyboard, you can send rapidly!
I send full e-mails on mine.
I notice subtle things.. like it flicking from EDGE to GPRS and dumping my call.
Stupid.
Ahwell, could be worse, I could be sending my 7th k850i back for repair like most on here. :rasp:
