not in the slightest. The standard TB is capable of handling enough airflow for around 300bhp, I've seen bored out and matched T/B's compared to standard ones and the only difference is the money missing from the bank.

Rather than chasing bhp, try upping your power-weight ratio. Ditch the rear seats, carpets, spare wheel, sound deadening. Then fit some decent springs, tyres and brakes. Make more difference than an air filter, exhaust and remap ever will, and probably be cheaper.

oddly enough, mine started doing this last night. most noticeable at 30 or above and definitely speed related, doesn't change sound and I was convinced it was wheel bearing or gearbox, but it sounds more rearwards. Turned out the stupid fibre matting over the back box was flapping and rubbing...

a 50 shot of nos. in all seriousness, save the cash for something with more go. or get mods that can be transferred / easily sold on (decent wheels, coilovers etc)
