Lovely mate, absolutely stunning! Im a big RS fan myself, first car was a white Fiesta RS turbo and still to this day say it was the best car to drive that ive owned.
Just out of interest though, what do you do with regards to maintaining it? do you go and start it up every week or so, on axel...
Big fan of these as I've said to you previously when you either first had it, or were looking at one in the "what car I'm looking at today" thread. For me they look nice and the sound they give off when played with is brilliant... Can't beat the sound of a decent boosted 4 banger!
havent really...
Just found this old thread, still learn from your reply every time i read it Chip-mk1 !
You REALLY need to get this B18 turbo Mk1 built, would love a passenger lap in it when you do!
Am i the only one that thinks if you want a small hatch with 4WD and a pokey engine, you'd be better saving your pennies and buying a new age Impreza WRX or STI hatch? I think it would have better tunning potential, cheaper to buy as they will be used, and dare i say it a better 4WD system...
Yes it is! shame he wont sell it ;)
If you ever did decide to sell it @Coops Turbo i want first dibs, although i have a feeling Im probably last in a VERY long line!
Its interesting that you say that... after speaking to Chip-mk1 about this, i found he is using the ph1 fuel set up still at 300bhp or so and doesnt suffer with any fuel starvation issues. I guess some are better than others?
I had this problem in my turbo.... VERY annoying! i am under the impression that the Ph1 fuel set up doesnt suffer this. I think Laine managed to find a solution to this problem though....
Chi - Speak to Andy (rg) or Trevor @ Dtm cars. I sold the Dongle and software along with my clio when i p/x'd it. Failing that, domsclio182 has a dongle and software im sure you could borrow for a few beer tokens ;)
I would talk to @Dan@SJM about supercharging clio's as he's probably the most recent forum member/trader to do this, and also knows his stuff!
With regards to buying a forced induction car in the first place, i couldnt disagree more. Ive been down both avenues and my turbo'd 1*2 was way more...
Cant say fairer than that Dan, exactly what I've said since first owning one! Bang for buck you can't beat them!... I've had 4 now having just got rid of one and already wanting another!
You can hold a bigger volume of oil which I believe aids keeping temperatures down, and because the sump isn't there like a conventional wet oil system, you can mount the engine lower for a better centre of gravity. Also, excess oil can get on the crank and cause a drop on power.
Chi im hoping to come and see the turbo at some point, but i think you should get a few video's on here of it... in car and some outside with a go-pro or something!
I'm looking into having it mapped currently but the boat like suspension, milk bottle top brakes and cheap crap Eco tyres won't be all that on a track day! I bought it to save £££ not thrash on the track anyway lol!
