Your speedo issue will be the sensor attached to the gear box called the speedo drive if my memory serves me right. I had this problem on my 172 cup, not sure they use the same technology as the ph1 though.
Your second issue im not sure, where are you based? dependant on that i can advise you...
I have to say from personal experience this isnt correct. My 172 Cup turbo was running around 230-240bhp. It was peaking at around 10-11psi holding around 6psi. Had Fred @ BTM fit a brand new Valeo clutch which started to slip after covering around 2,000 miles. If youre going turbo you really do...
Looks lovely George, glad you went down the Turbo route!
Question for Ben... why do you miss yours?? is it because youve sorn'd it or something? as i know you wouldnt have sold it !!!
Andy built my old 172 cup turbo, i decided to put megane internals in and took it to Andy again. His work is 2nd to none! it had done between 500-600 miles when he gave it back to me at Bedford autodrome where i kicked its face in for 2 hours in 28 degrees weather this summer and it was...
He prefers if you buy the bits then drop it off to him, then he fits it all for you and jobs a good'un!
My Cup turbo was brilliant and all done by Andy... Then engine from it is currently being put into a LY182 at DTM as we speak I believe!
no decat on my car although I've just had a new cat to centre pipe exhaust kit fitted so maybe because it was leaking there perhaps?
its strange because the car is running really nicely, could do with plugging it in to find out what's the issue
I used my 172 cup turbo everyday throughout the summer and it was faultless. If you remember the temperatures were pretty high, 32 each day for a while. It drove from Newcastle down to Bedford, ran a track day then back to Warwick too.
Great fun showing up more expensive powerful cars, so I'd...
Going to be putting my 182 up for sale in the next week or so but not sure how much to list it for?
Its a 182 Titanium, 67k, both cup packs, COMPLETELY standard
Belts just done by DTM with a full service
Full renault service history apart from the last one
1 lady owner from new before me...
if your worried about running costs then I'd say that an Evo isn't for you... Wait until you can comfortably afford one then you will get a lot more enjoyment out of it rather than every time you go out in it you're looking at the fuel gauge or worrying about what could break next and how much...
Yeah thats a little more than i was looking to pay. I might see if i can borrow a machine polisher off someone. More than happy to put in the elbow grease needed but dont want to spend a fortune as the car was bought on a budget and to save money, hence it being an eco friendly motor lol! any...
Ok thanks for the reply, as you said that should be good for the basic wash, but ideally im looking at what i need to bring the paint back to a decent standard, something to bring the lacquer back to life.
Any suggestions?
Hi all,
Ive just bought myself a Seat Arosa TDI (black) and the paintwork is in need of some TLC.
The lacquer has faded in parts, and there are plenty of swirl marks. What i need to know as ive never really been a polisher is, what do i need to buy to get this all sorted and have the paint...
I did Bedford in the summer, boiling hot day 28 degrees IIRC. I had contisport 3's on the front almost new, and some crappy kingpin ditch finders on the rear with around 5mm still left on them. About half way through the session the rear tyres were feeling the heat and i noticed a significant...
Been watching the top gear africa special today where they were challenged with buying estate cars for £1500 and Richard has a Bugeye WRX. It made me smile at some of the roads they drove on and the impreza just ploughed through them all, and more often than not ended up towing the other two. I...
Ive done the same, and completely agree with this... All of the RS Clio's ive owned have been really fun cars to drive. What took it to another level was strapping a GT28rs to one, it went from being a great car to drive to a mental car to drive ;)
Here here... Another Fiesta RS would be...
Ok, so its to do with the amount of air each will flow... so im guessing the shorter inlet tract will flow more air? meaning youve got to get it up to 10Krpm to see its optimum usage, where as the longer one will flow less air and be more useful at say 7-8k?
I had Koni's on my 172 turbo, and i have to say the difference in the cars handling when adjusted was very noticeable!
Ive had 2 182's now with cup pack suspension. I put some Apex lowering springs on the 1st one and it firmed up the ride and decreased body roll to the point it felt just like...
