I dont have a thread for my current car, its an ED low boost kit, there is an intensive build thread on my previous 260 bhp ph1 turbo ill have to try and find if youre interested, it was an unorthodox conversion however it had a stock bottom end which was an old tired 120k mile bottom end and...
5k is like a high boost conversion, near on 300bhp is not needed in these cars i paid bang on half that, 2.5k to boost mine
edit: and if you really wanted to you could run 280 without having to forge the block anyway so it still wouldnt cost 5k, 5k is if you want to go the fully forged route
Id definitely go for 438 catcams in your position, they yield great results for n/a tuning. 15-20 bhp with a nice map to suit and nice driveability.
Not sure what you mean by never ending journey with new valves or valve springs, modifying in general is a never ending journey youll always want...
I would say you have to be useful with a spanner if you want to own a turbo clio, and have a fairly good knowledge of clios mechanically. Ive owned 2 turbo clios first was a phase 1 with 260 bhp and a 120k mile bottom end, owned that for a year and nothing went wrong, just a notchy 3rd gear and...
Hell no, ED :tonguewink:
If Clioturbo done it, the thread title wouldnt be about tightening downpipe bolts, it would be ''how do i fix this huge hole in the side of my engine block'' 😂
its not the downpipe i was confused, its the top end of the link pipe for the 182 to the downpipe, the bolts are just above the subframe it was awkward as hell but i got it
Anyone know the easiest way of going about tightening the downpipe bolts ? Cars been turbod over a year now and could do with checking on, got under the car today and I could see the bolts but couldn't fit a ratchet or spanner up there for the life of me, is there an easier way of getting at...
Does anyone know what the thread gauge and pitch of the engine mount bolts are? Ive managed to strip one of the threads like a complete r****d and need to buy the correct size thread repair tool, its the bolts circled in red below:
I still think it's comperative, the 17% pulley kits are roughly 2-300 £? For around 220 bhp if they have all the other bolt ons exhaust induction etc , 421 cams are only £4-500 on top of your cambelt change cost for 190ish bhp so they're still neck and neck with the mini weighing like 150kg...

Cool thanks for that, is there any one step product i could use and thats it? like the same Menzerna but medium polish?
Dont really wanna drop £100 on multiple different glazes and finishes, not for the clio anyway :tongueout:
thanks i had a look but i dont have the foggiest as to whether the arctic blue is soft paint, hard paint and what not.
Is there anyone who has/had an Arctic 182 and can recommend a product they've used and had great results with the DA? Thanks
Getting a DA polisher for christmas, complete noob never used one before, can anyone recommend what product / pads i should use with it on my Arctic 182 ?
Thanks
The Chinese t25/t28 hybrid unit that engine dynamics kits run and before that a garret gt25 from a focus rs mk1 both small turbos both max out at around 300 bhp on the clios
I just dont think turbo lag on a clio is relevant and dont agree that it ''ruins'' or takes away the ''go kart'' feel...
A passenger lap would be INSANE! I'm not on Instagram unfortunately however I am on there a lot browsing through pictures, I'll make one Tommorow and let you know my handle. Do you think you'll be tracking it this year or waiting till next years better weather?
I had a hunch this was the car you were going to buy, I saw it on racecarsdirect. Looks absolutely awesome. also I live like 10 mins from brands and I'm there a lot, PLEASE let me know when you book a track day in this in advance so I can come witness this beast!
Its more about the casting on the engine blocks when they made them at the factory, some probably flowed better. Luckily its pretty rare you find a knackered one going as low as 150. but if you got one with 165 bhp it wouldnt feel any different or perform any differently to one with 175 bhp. The...
Spending 10k on a cup racer to remove 4k's worth of suspension, to then spend another 1k on some custom built stuff that you have no certainty of how good it's going to be still seems like an ass about face way of doing things to me.
I still think you'd be much better off just building your own...
Well in regards to the 182 racers, you couldn't just swap the springs and dampers out for any off the shelf 182 coilover kit as they have modified hubs and various other things to accommodate the bilstein setup. They use a concoction of different Renault parts(including iirc Laguna driveshafts)...
