I would take the shaft off, fully degrease the whole area and surrounding components and the splines on the box and inside the shaft.
Put some thick cv grease (only a smear) inside the shaft and put it back on.
I've emailed him to ask!
Yeah I do too, the Ph1 front end looks loads better than the Ph2, but the Ph2 has a better rear. Luckily I've got the best of both.
Ok, I have some plans I'm keeping under wraps at the moment but hopefully it'll help spool and give a bit more top end. Not sure when I'll try it out though. It's a bugger having to get to Leeds for mapping.
It's probably not worth it without going forged either which I didn't want to do.
You know the car well then? Yeah the ASTs have transformed the car, the wheels help too, definitely make it more spritely.
How far has the standard bottom end been pushed? I know people say 320 is the absolute limit but is anyone running more than that reliably?
The Megane is much more grown up. The Clio is always on but the Megane has an off button.
It definitely needs at least 270bhp imo. This one is 80bhp over standard. The throttle response isn't as bad as I'd thought it would be but it doesn't compare to an ITBd Clio with no pas or aircon and a...
I think I put a brief how to somewhere on here for adjusting the pms linkage.
Two hours crawling around in the pouring rain I got it perfect.
I set it in 2nd then tweaked it bit by bit to get the higher gears. 5th is a very short shift.
I've got a genuine seal going spare for the box too if...
Looks great in red with the black roof. I like the wheels too.
Definitely change the side vents for carbon if you can or get them painted. Darker ones would look much better.
Currently thinking about repainting the callipers and doing the front and rear diamonds to match. And get a matching tow strap too. First thoughts are Kwak green but is that too obvious?
Tempted just to do the callipers silver for stealth...
I've got a SpeedHunters strip to put across the...
The Clio was beginning to get tiring driving on longer journeys and my boy started outgrowing the rear seats so I made the decision to change whilst both Clios were in bits otherwise I would have been, in the words of Linkin Park, building it up to break it back down.
I'll admit the Megane...
It was destined to be the replacement but then I had a change of heart and decided Clios weren't really suitable any more.
As Scott has said, worth more in bits.
My first choice was an E46 M3 but put off by the cost of parts and potential failure points I went with the Megane.
Flycatcher saxo vts was a proper pussy magnet back then.
My mate had a combat kit for his corsa b but it was a 5 door in that hideous blue/purple with a 1.0 12v...
I'd have loved a R26 with xenons and the R26 is held in higher esteem due to reviews but this came up with the right bits on it and I couldn't pass it up.
Besides with the bits fitted to it it'll be better than the large majority of R26 around and a bit of an underdog when I say it's just a...
Sooooo.... Blue shell has gone to a new owner and was saved from the scrapyard. It was a mint shell tbh so I'm glad it is being built back up.
This is a picture of the osr sill before it went.
Parked up ready to go and being taken away to make bean tins.
And this is the replacement :)...
Pace wise it doesn't feel massively different to my Clio. The extra torque is noticeable though so it might well be quicker on track.
It's much nicer to drive on the road though!
I've got a high pressure hose ready to post. Replacement is the only fix.
There's the connection at the PAS rack by the steering column joint and a couple of bolts securing the pipe along its length.
It's not a bad job, bit of patience and some rags and a tub to catch the oil is all you need...
Removing the electric windows and replacing the glass saves 15kg.
Thermoformed windows look oem compared to flat sheet.
You can get lexan which scratches or hardcoated with marguard which is scratch resistant (and it works!)
I happen to have a full set of brand new poly windows for sale which...
