There is a small amount of rust starting on the filler area and where the bumper meets the panel. They are going to give me a better idea on cost when it's in next week.
Patching this side as below shows unless it's a lot worse when they start chopping away, but it looks fairly isolated.
The drivers side will be done further down the line..
Changed the oil, filter and plugs today.
The plugs are 8 or 9 years old but only about 8k on them. They looked like they was ready to be changed!
All 4 plugs seemed to be not done up all that tight? Seemed strange to me? Correctly torqued up now anyway.
Took the windscreen wipers off and painted in satin black and done the scuttle tray in auto gym tyre gel to see how it lasts.
Gave the car a wash, clay and wax and it's looking much fresher now.
Booked in next month to have the passanger arch rust cut out and repaired.
Finally got the engine bay finished. Could only manage a short amount of time each day before my leg would balloon up following recent surgery.
Very pleased with the results!

I guess aswell as low mileage the condition of the cars - bodywork/underneath is also important when trying to gauge a price?
It's about time there was a bigger margin between the rough ones that have corrosion and rust underneath and good clean tidy examples!
So I changed out the steering wheel for a 300mm Mountney steering wheel which looks just as retro and cool as these clios!
This was before putting in the garage and starting to disassemble engine parts..
Not going crazy with this as this ones meant to be used and enjoyed but as I've got the...
So I've been putting most my effort into getting my other garage queen cup into more original order including discs and pads all round, wheels powder coated back into silver and general cleaning underneath.
This is now being stored at a friend's garage and currently for sale.
As I'm off work...
Where do people think the value would be for my 172 Cup?
28,459 miles
3 owners
Great condition inside & out
Turinis are Anthracite on new budgets but as its more of a garage ornament I never got round to changing them.
Had the turinis refurbished back in 2020 and I don't think they've been washed since 😂 luckily they came up really well after a few goings over.
They will be coming off soon to put the 15" alloys and nakang NS2r's on I originally bought it on. Hoping to cross the track day off my bucket list...
After the mot back in 2020 I had an offer I couldn't refuse for the cup so sold it. Nearly 4 years on I have just had the opportunity to buy it back! Looking very tired!
I have my low mile one in the garage which I will likely have to sell in the spring so having this will soften that blow!
I...
Ultimately the decision will be based on how long I'm likely to have to live off my savings whether the clio stays or go's!
I don't think I'd ever find another with the same miles & cconditions it won't be a decision made lightly.
🤣 thankyou for the correction! I'll put that down to all the medication!
Appreciate your opinion on it 👍 and yes I think you are right to an extent. I'm thinking about possibly moving it on and buying a cheaper higher mileage Clio so I still have something but not so much tied up in a garage...
It's more for money reasons really. Spoke with the wife last night and agreed I would see the surgeon next month about timelines of the next op/when I cam rturn to work etc before making any decisions.
Thr car is off the road and stored in my garage anyway.
Yes pretty much everyone I speak to says Collecting Cars so that must stand for something!
I'm going to sit on it for now until I at least get some more information on the next 12 month's!
