if you want a glossy QD, then meguiars ultimate quick wax is one of the best I've used. Certainly on par with victoria QD and CG hybrid V7, gives pretty good water behaviour and that little added protection needed with these show waxes. Or go with Z field glaze
I know very little about swissvax...
I've tried the chemical guys fine and g3 mitts. I've ended up going back to a traditional clay bar. On a well maintained car I see little need for stepping up to the mitt as it's a pretty quick job with clay. Of it's really bad I'd rather spend the time and money on a good tar and organic...
An inch, max 2 inches of chosen product in the bottom then topped with water. This on average is enough to do 3 to 4 cars.
A few weeks ago I managed to do my mk5 golf and an a4 estate, then the next day do an old discovery, passat estate and jag XF and it started to run out as I finished the XF...
As above, a much less fussy option for application and prep, but I never managed more than 3 to 4 months of decent performance. After that it was still working but not at a level I was happy with on the windscreen. Those that see more than this I'd imagine G1 would last them years. I typically...
Werskstatt has been stopped now bought out or co owned with carlack. Polished bliss tried to give comparable carlack products but there were a few claims of differences
Illusion is still my favourite. Capture the rapture was close but as application wasn't quite as nice or easy it gets 2nd place. ODk glamour is supposed to be comparable to illusion but I haven't used it myself. That's coming from a friend that has both. Satsuma rock was very glossy and deep...
One or the other. I've never really got on with pure glazes. Pre wax cleansers and AIO's fill well, but they'll also clean the base where as a pure glaze won't. I don't know where cover up fits in to that as I've not looked into the 50cal. range
Only looking at the condition of the paint can anyone advise whether or not it needs tar and iron removers, and claying, dependant on the level of bonded contaminants.
As a minimum I would always use some for of pre wax cleanser, cleaner polish or glaze to ensure you remove any traces of old...
Tripple is similar to SRP. Maybe think of it as a newer version. A little nicer to use and fractionally better performance it fills swirls and chemically cleans pretty well. But it won't remove swirls like the others I mentioned
I just don't like the feel and application of BSD. And I dont think it really adds anything much to the finish other than some super hydrophobic qualities.
V7 on the other hand is lovely to work with, almost melts into the paint and feels nice and smooth and slick and really adds to the gloss...
I did. Beads and sheets just as well. Can still smear a little on darker colours but put that down to humidity. Works lovely BSD mixed with chemical guys V7
Can't decide if I want to try '15 as I still read of people the same problems with occasional smearing. Got another bottle of C2, CG V7, BSD and various mixes of them all
Frost have had decent deals on the britemax range since before Christmas, originally with free postage over £40. it was picked up on DW some time ago and shortly after the free postage cut off was quickly increased.
www.shopnshine.co.uk are done a few deals with it reduced or as a cheap bundle...
Don't buy any type of coating until you've do t your research and are ready to put the time and prep in. If you don't get it perfect, it won't last and it'll look aweful. Get it right though and it's sorted for a couple of years
With 30ml of c4 you could coat a bus, and use the remainder to coat the wheels. DLUX didn't seem to last as long, but you get more. But once opened it needs to be used fairly quickly.
You're applying by machine? Never done it as I enjoy waxing to much.
Just use a nice soft foam applicator like a megs yellow foam or autofinesse wax mate, half a turn in the pot of wax and crack on
Autofinesse revive or sonax trim gel for easy use but regular application
Gtechniq C4 for long term protection but requires precise prep and application
Art de shine is the brand. They make quite a few nano based sealants
@gally do you not think strata is worth the extra over CQUK? Plan on using it in the next few months
