The polisher and compounds are pretty good and useable at any level. I'm not 100% sure on the pads though. But if you're starting out I'd imagine will be just fine.
The Clio and Saxo paints will react very differently to correction. The Saxo will be a lot softer to correct
For those that work on cars not their own, do you ever not want to correct or try and talk the owners out of it?
I'm a firm believer in get it corrected once and maintain it carefully. A friend with a 330d coupe had his car professionally detailed at the start of the year and I've been trying...
I wouldn't dare use the same cutting compounds on an Renault sport and a ford. RS paint is a medium hard to correct. Standard Renault paint is medium and ford is a little softer but not soft like jap paint.
You'll get good correction with a mid to finishing polish on ford. RS paint you'll want...
Monza are no longer resellers and moving stock. Just seen that on Instagram and asked about uk postage, they'll send and postage isn't too bad, but works out at approx £65 for a 30ml bottle of strata. Was happy with the group buy price. I like it but not that much. Nanolex Si3d will be tried next.
pH rating is only part of the story. Autofinesse citrus power is extremely alkali despite the name yet has proven to be wax safe.
Iirc autofoam has to be diluted quite highly to keep it wax safe
I tried the mesto foamer with a few different snow foams and pre washes. Was rubbish TBH. Yes it foamed, but took so long to apply and having to re pressurise it to get any real foam out. By the time you've gone round the car but was pretty much gone.
Save your money and get down to B&Q for a...
The standards das6 isn't a great machine for getting into small spaces. Being heavier the rotary mentioned earlier with the extension and spot pads would be more useable
Yes you can. You can't use it on textured black plastics as it leaves behind a white residue. Painted or similar plastics treat just like any other painted panel
An anti hologram polish will not really cut out any swirling. something like Scholl S40 fits this but is only really for finishing down previous cutting polishing. the final finishing AF polish is kind of an anti hologram.
I found the 3 AF polish and pad combos to be fairly decent for starting...
things get more confusing, you can get lots of different types of sealants, polymer, solvent, glass / silicon / nano, and waxed based. likewise you can get waxes that are either carnuba wax, polymer or solvent based, and recently glass based. its only really the nano coatings, a more advanced...
A solvent based wax like colli or fk are likely to interefere with any base product. And ideally should be applied to bare clean paint for maximum results and durability. You can use them over something like tripple or SRP but be aware that you will more than likely find it dies off sooner than...
Colli 476 I beleive is very solvent heavy, and more than likely interefere a with any base products. So using it over tripple will more than likely mess with the wax and filler parts. In short it will effect the finish and outright durability.
As JD found Tripple and gtechniq C2, an...
A tar and adhesive remover like carpro tar-x, if not effective try a dedicated glass polish. Most a chemical cleaners with a few like the carpro version being physical abrasives
Provided it's been applied quite recently, go out it with a proper panel wipe and MF and plenty of effort! Other option would be physical abrasion with a polishing compound if well and truy cured.
On those details where you use tripple by DA, try using lime prime. It's quite oily so found it fill ok still, but due to the abrasive in it pad dependant it can cut well also. RussZS aka midlandscarcare and Gally used to use it a long time ago for enhancement details. By hand I still prefer AF...
I see some get good results with amigo but I never really thought much to it. never felt it added much to the finish. tried it mainly by hand and a couple of applications by DA. Thought there were plenty of other products that either filled or cleansed significantly better
Not really after 2-3 weeks unless you use a top up type quick detailer like auto finesse glisten, meguiars ultimate quik wax or zaino z8.
Just use a general QD after each wash and it'll be fine as I'd imagine most will wash there cars at leaset once a month
What type of seats, cloth or leather alcantara RS seats?
For general cloth, autofiness total or diluted verso. Or cheap halfords option the carplan spray foams with the plastic bristle tops work well
Difference in hard and soft waxes is literally in there texture and how firm they are. I've used the meguiars ultimate paste wax and it's a pretty soft wax, but spreads very well and has always been easy to take off. Hard waxes are typically much firmer and won't load up your applicator in the...
