is it waxed or sealed with anything? a good layer of protection will help to limit the build up, but nothing will stop it. will make it easier to clean.
As said capro DLUX or gtechniq c4 will give long term resistance to road abrasion and uv protection. Can also be used on plastic trims and wheels.
Know nothing of the ebay item but would want to see some independent reviews.
Iirc the new meguiars headlight kit comes with a uv blocker but...
Hello mate. Will drop you a message later on
Now you could have been really unlucky @Sunglasses_Ron and the st could have had soft sticky paint like Ryan's ST fiesta. That was leaving holograms with my softest combo and was a pain to work. I've since gone and bought softer pads and polishes...
Typically ford paint is relative soft, and have never needed to use anything as aggressive as fg400 on one. Only used it a few times on badly swirled VAG paint, and when combining it with a 3m green pad that's a really aggressive combo, especially if you say the car wasn't all that badly swirled...
Really? That's a bit worrying. I've not used it since it first came out but thought it was pretty decent.
Autofinesse lather
Britemax cleanmax
Hubikote hubiwash
Dodojuice born to be mild
Wolfs chemicals white satin
Chemical guys mr pink
Meguiars ultimate wash and wax
All the above of all that...
The wooly mammoth never worked as well as the price tag
The auto finesse aqua towels are very good if you can find stock
Still my preferred towels are the uber yellow towels as linked by gally
12 bottles! Holy Christ
Nothing interesting lately, more carpro wash mits, couple of bottles Sonax BSD, still waiting on eurocarparts to delivery when they said they had stock, sonax nano paint protect sealant
I only tried a small amount of seal feed and yes it's a lot nicer, but the sonax works just fine. Stopped the rubbers on a megane cabriolet freezes, a BMW coupe with the auto drop windows not sounding like they stick as much as when it was bought 2nd hand from BMW. The wife's A4 doors resembled...
AF tripple or britemax AIOmax as my favourites.
Dodojuice need for speed was nice and easy to use but didn't really look or cleanse all that great.
If you'll be topping with a wax or sealant maybe look into pre wax cleansers like lime prime or rejuvenate.
Non are true polishes but do have...
Gyeon tire is pretty good provided the tyre is completely dry. I replaced the spray head with a normal shampoo bottle top t pour it out and felt it was much better suited
A slogan for anyone foolish enough to like a clean car! You know it's bad when you pick a product over another because "it feels nicer to use"
Problem is I now find it relaxing and therapeutic! Had a rubbish day at work so the wife's inside with dinner on the table and I'm insistant I wash both...
For initial wheel and tyre clean, use any all purpose cleaner diluted down to get rid of the grime, then an iron remover to remove brake pad deposits. This should bring them up pretty well. Get them waxed or sealed then after that you should only really need a strong dilution of generic car...
I don't think anyone has suggested that a clay mitt or the towels doesn't work as well at removing contaminants as a traditional clay bar. On dirtier heavier contaminated cars they are indeed much faster and more effective method.
But as said they are more likely to cause marring or other...
Extra10 gets another 10%
If you're using a touchless sealant like hydr02 or wetcoat it seems a little pointless in topping it with something like BSD, but at the end of the day it won't do any harm to the base layer of hydr02
Don't think the sonax stuff is stocked at local branches, only delivered.
I orders last month and was told 3 month wait for stock so cancelled the order. 3 weeks later it's stocked and ready for next day delivery. Now there's no stock again
I wanted to reply to this thread the other day but christ how it has escalated is funny
To the original post. Lots of things like all purpose cleaners, heavy pre washes, tar and fallout removers will not completely remove a performing wax or sealant. But will degrade it and maybe kill off a...
I appreciate that some may not know all that much about god methods or products to use to wash, valet or detail their car. But it's their if people do a little reading first. So there's no excuse for random or incorrect suggestions or advice. Using a DA to apply a wax isn't really a great...
