I know he is talking out of his arse with the majority of things like the coilovers, but if the pile of receipts exist for said work forged or not, it could actually be a decent car and a bargain with a bit of love. You never know the car might have had a great past before he bought it made it...
I will pay you whatever is in my paypal account... about £6quid?
This thread is very amusing, however I now really want to know if its had the work done or the guy is talking out of his chocolate hole!
My daily has done about 30k without a service purely down to the fact my brother never serviced it when he had and I haven't done one on it yet. After seeing this.. I know what I will be doing Saturday, I feel rather guilty considering the 106 gets one every few thousand or when I start...
Re: 'Cub's Trackday Flamer - Cage etc'
My drive home was eventful, 2 miles from the workshop I got carried away on a really tight roundabout and surged the fuel tank and stupid french thing cut out and wouldn't start for 5 minutes!
I was actually tired from driving it god knows how I am gonna...
glad you got it sorted!! What side had failed ?
Yea eat I am still after some, mainly the upper gearbox and engine, the lower one is already a solid mount. Drop me a PM with what you want for them if you want mate. :)
No worries! Looking forward to seeing yours finished.
I find that such a shame Dan, you have an amazing eye for photography. I hope you get the chance to use it, I would love to take my camera with me to places like that.
Re: 'Cub's Trackday Flamer - Cage etc'
Was a good laugh yesterday and nice to put names to faces and have a catch up. Apologies I couldn't stay and help more, however I feel Rob had the fitting of the PMS under control.
Thanks for the Beer and Coffee :D
Cheers, I was never keen on red cars I always wanted an indigo Blue 106 rallye or a black gti, but when this came up it was a bargin and the chassis is really clean rust wise so I settled for red of which I have learnt to love. It does however need a DA throwing over it to make it read again...
Re: 'Cub's Trackday Flamer - Cage etc'
I did over a 100 miles in the car last night without any problems so providing nothing happens between now and Saturday all should be well and I will be along in it. Only problem I hit last night was water got in through some places that I didn't expect...
Re: 'Cub's Trackday Flamer - Cage etc'
Engine looks good.. white really is a brave choice for a rocker cover lol! I thought I was brave with white heat wrap on my manifold, which I would like to state is already brown after a 100 miles!
Cars looks good mate looking forward to seeing it...
A car that will change all supercars over the next decade! It makes the Porsche look rather peasant like in my opinion. I think alot of manufactures have some catching up to do, awesome review from Harris as per usual makes Top gear look like a CBBC program.
Re: My new project - 106 GTI
Well I am a happy guy.. did over a 100 miles in the car tonight giving it a shakedown to make sure everything was ok. The weather was awful and it highlighted a few issues with holes that need filling to stop the water getting in apart from that it was faultless...
Just use the revenge as an arm chair in the living room for the time being stacked up on some bricks or timber.. I am sure she wouldn't mind that its furniture!
