Is there any other way to get rid of the dashtop reflection in the windscreen other than flocking?
Is there some sort of matt polish that works?
Its just tooooooo shiny and the reflection is distracting
a nice 1m bit of 3mm x 50mm flat steel arrived, to secure my full size spare in its well
Nothing else to cover it up, everything else removed bar the 2 front seats
The main problem you will have will be fitting any bigger battery into the space provided. Don't think there is any issue with the alternator charging it up, unless its way over sized
The way I look at it, they recommended a certain boiler for my house, then I asked it to be upgraded to the...
My advice would always be to go for a slightly bigger output than the one that is correct spec
Nice to have a powerful battery. usually only 4 or 5 pounds more
Sooooo much better with the spare removed- there hardly any rattles around the car now. some of the sound felt like it was coming from the front engine area. But with the wheel out all dodgy rattles seem to have gone
Just a bit of fun, the horns.
@Sidnancy - Not too loud, but the spare wheel rattles around a bit, so will remove that and replace with one of those "plug the hole" seals, until i can secure the spare wheel with flat iron.
Received the cable, momentary switch, and crimp set so the Cavalry charge horns in place on Saturday...
Lol. Just ripped the rear seats out 24 hrs before
Looks like flat iron secured straight across to hold it in place, unless the twisty centrak thingy will hold a full sized wheel?
Pic above is empty wheel space with threaded spindle central
Pic above is empty wheel space with jack, tow eye, and brace polystyrene thingy with hole that goes over spindle
Pic above is wheel face up with kit underneath
Pic above is wheel face down- assume this is where you put that plastic...
so that fits inside the spare wheel (Cant see how I just have a polystyrene things with the jack, tow eye, and brace in it) and what holds that to the centre threaded spindle? That's the part I am missing and it doesn't look that piece is in the photo?
Great. its the middle plastic twisty thingy i need ?
Thanks MRBILLYUK but i cant see a phase 1 with a secured spare wheel in any of those images?
Yes Bloke- if i werent going round the track at 100mph+ it would be a good idea to just cover it up with another load of stuff that if it was flying...
Just removed my rear seats on my Phase 1 172, , and realise that the spare full size wheel isnt secured
There is a 4 inch bolt rising upwards centrally with a thread - anyone know what the thread size is so i can get a nut to fit?
Also- how do spares get secured? (Phot helpful)
I have a...
check all the bolts on the dogbone- one of mine worked loose and fell out
does sound like dogbone issue tbh
(My bushes on dogbone yellow- theres a photo on here somewhere)
Just a bit of fun, some have a little sneer, and some give a grim look in the serious world of motor cars
But i lovem
Stripping out my rear seats today, will have a look at where the compressor can be mounted, and suss out the cable routes i think :-)
went round Silverstone couple years back sounding the Cavalry charge horns, crowd seemed to be amused
as i was in a pack, they couldnt tell who it was lol
its a few hours to install them properly tho :-(
Would suggest a Sunday morning be best. Could pick a day that they have something on downtown too- maybe some sort of rally. Great fun driving round tootng horns waving etc etc. (Well i like it lol)
Must get my cavalry charge musical horns fitted by then. Ha!
Glad (and thanks) there is interest
For a first go, the primary route depending on where people are coming from, would be meet Pease Pottage Services A23 Southbound for those that come that way, then down A23 off at Bolney, down some country roads for the scenery for 10 miles or so, then to...
Also getting similar
Whenever i top up - from at least 4 hrs cold, on a flat surface- it seems to drop to about just over half, then stays there?
I top up again, then it drops to just over half and stays there. about every 3/400 miles.
No smoke from exhaust, and engine seems to run tickety boo...
