PCD 4 X 100, Cbore OK, ET OK, why dont they fit?

Got hold of some 15 inch 6.5j FOX Black satin wheels off ebay advertised as 4 x 100 PCD, Centre bore a bit bigger than the Clio 172 but got some spigot rings, then tried offering them up today, and they didnt fit? He did say they came from his Mk 1 Ford Focus but as all the dimensions seemed...

I didnt use the spacers , passenger side anyway, as i fitted that today. (Drivers side to do) Used 30mm high tensile bolts and big washers either side Didnt use runners either, bolted the side mounting plates straight to the subframe and seems great. Wife not tried it yet, tho 2 bolts door side...

    Harness Mounting Points

Cant edit above post, so I was going to add, it must be people are using the spacers? as guessing the seats are too low- that right? Anything better to use than OEMs spacers as they seem a bit feeble? I haven't offered a seat up, will do that Sunday Off to a Wedding sales pitch, to see how much...

    Harness Mounting Points

why does everyone suggest long bolts when fitting the subframe to the floorpan- your not leaving the OEM spacers on are you? As when I fit the JonFos subframe to the floor pan strut, closest to the door passenger side, after taking off the 2 rubber bungs, theres only a few mm of steel meaning I...

Belt and dephaser change- what other mods at the same time?

any idea what 197 cams would do for a standard 172 phase 1 engine? How much labour involved and are they tricky to fit when sorting the belts at same time?

Belt and dephaser change- what other mods at the same time?

My belts are due next year, so probably go the whole hog on my year 2000 phase 1 (88kmiles) and get the dephaser n water pump done too So what performance mods can you do, which will save a tidy sum , when done at the same time? I am more of a tinkerer than an all out, head on dismantle and...

Bucket seat fitting, subframes, existing runners, harness, etc. Advice and tips?

Yes, there are holes but Ive an aftermarket exhuast and that is solidly in the way to get to the bolt to undo it! could just touch with finger. I tried for half hour to get the awkward bolt, but it was rusted and i struglled so took the easy option. Can always drill our the remaining part of the...

Bucket seat fitting, subframes, existing runners, harness, etc. Advice and tips?

Have removed passenger seat, and runners, and the bolt nearest gearstick is worst. Didnt bother removing heatshield and dropping exhaust to get to it, just hacksawed it of top side. May well keep the new bolthead underneath the car and nut and washer top end on sub frame, easier i think. See...

There are a nice comfy sporty seat, although dont hold you in the seat as tight as some others- maybe thats the reason, or maybe the bucket seat plastic is not up to strength standards?

    Harness Mounting Points

Great thread.answers a few questions I had when I posted a similar thread an hour ago. When you secured the subframe handbrake side, was it bolted through the chassis, so you bolted though the floor? And was it hard bolting the door side bolts, as they sit on a bridge rather than bolting...

    Roll cage fitting

I went to about 6 local garages (Wrong, called 6 garages, went to 3) before I got the recommendation to go to someone who obviously knew what they were doing. And he was a Japcar specialist but quite happy to work on the Clio. did a great job too. Let your fingers do the walking as a town the...

Bucket seat fitting, subframes, existing runners, harness, etc. Advice and tips?

Just got a pair of Corbeau seats. 1 will definitely need a subframe as only comes with side mounts. The other came with runners (Corbeau Clubsport) , so i thought maybe i could fit without a subframe Having removed the passenger seat, it looks like if it wasnt for the running gear on the door...

    Fitting Bucket Seats

Any tips on fitting an OMP subframe and bucket seat? Obviously the existing seat and runners come out, then place the OMP subframe in with the correct bolts, and bolted to the floor. Then bolt the seat on top via the side mounts, and assume there are access holes left for the full harness to...
