haha no way @Lawro , just ordered about £350 worth of ICE to go in too! Will get some more pics up in December as will be going for a drive out with a few pals, still looking box fresh :up: and only getting better!
IMO the 1*2's are a future classic and are probably as cheap as they will ever get now, maybe not the Trophy just yet. In the long run I think the Trophy will be the most sought after car from the line but if you're just planning on selling up at some point then it's only really worth it unless...
Nah best off avoiding it and just rewire, prepared for that now anyway! save having to dismantle it all at some point should it fail!
Thanks for everyones help!
hmm maybe, but the amp I will be getting will probably be around 100rms per speaker as they are 75rms each so might not risk it, thanks though! Also nice install
I thought that if you were amping your speakers you shouldn't use the stock wiring as it's very thin? I would happily splice into the original wiring but scared it's gonna give up?
I live in Blackpool, civilized has been removed from all dictionaries here!
Well it sounds a lot harder than I thought it would be lol I guess I will just have to get an early start! One of those things I need to see to understand how hard it is, sounds like these Clio's aren't the best for...
I've actually removed the dash before on my old 182 and it was actually pretty straight forward! I've planned this all out in my head but no doubt I will be out until dark. I am a little bit confused as to why people say it's so hard to route a new cable through the door grommet mind you, it...
Right NOW I understand it all lol, the reason I will need to do some wire messing is because I need to connect the tweeter to the sub which runs through the door rubbers! Got it! I will be getting some comps at about 75 RMS so I will do a rewire then. I will only need to get a new wire from the...
Hi, thanks for the reply. I am actually after something a little beefier than these to be honest. I was in 172 a while back with these installed and I wasn't too keen, but what is the score on wiring if I am amping the fronts? I can just leave the existing wiring in the doors right and wire from...

This is the diagram I am referring too, it matches the exact set up I want so if I was to follow that diagram then do I need to connect any wires to my HU at all?! Got myself pretty confused lol
Thanks very much that makes perfect sense! Also just noticed all the typos I made on the first post lol :anguished:
IF I used coaxials would this be fine on the existing wiring? Also would the OEM tweeters still work?
After seeing a lot of diagrams it looks as though if you are using an amp then...
I'm actually going to be mounting the amp under a seat I think but thanks anyway pal! Saw you about the other day, flashed and waved at you but you went full ignore mode on me :expressionless:
Hi all, I have decided to overhaul the standard 182 ICE! I have done a few installs in the past but really simple stuff like coaxials and active subs!
I really want to stick with components up front but cannot get my head around how to install?! All I see are people talking about rewiring the...
I wrote off a car 2 months after buying it and was only tpft. We had a spare car that was ready for scrapping so I potted about in that for 8 months while I saved for another. It was a 1998 Vauxhall Corsa 1.0l in a royal green type colour. Both front doors had been replaced with pink ones off a...
Yea working with it is a doddle, just make sure your surface is super clean (easy job) and it goes on perfectly. 3-4 coats is ample, just avoid spraying in cold conditions especially now it's coming to winter. I have seen the purple but it had glossifier over the top, it looked really good but...
lol new photos coming up asap, finishing off a winter protection this weekend! Also getting involved in a photoshoot in October with several other members so I will hopefully get you crying then ;)
Used it on several parts on my previous car. The finish was flawless and it held up perfectly for over a year. There was one area that tore due to my running over a branch but it was super easy to touch up. If you want a matte look do it, however if you want gloss go for the real thing.
This is my car but I will use pics taken from Lawro (previous owner)
Lowered on Cooksports with 15mm spacers on rear and 20mm on the front. M.A.D ones. Perfect stance IMO
Ok, well if it's original bolts back on I can I can choose my normal garage for the alignment as no need for camber gauge. Not a lot of reputable garages around here lol
