Ok thanks guys will just be extra vigilant then, can't believe the price to be honest, me and a friend are thinking of picking up an rx8 or a 172 purely for a track car they are so cheap!
Thanks for the help, will start a project thread when I get her!
Shame it was written off because it was immaculate! Few issues I didn't spot when I picked her up though! Steering wheel wasn't straight for one!
Thanks Adam, I know it may seem like a daft question but is there anything else I should look out for when buying a 182? It's been about 3 years now...
Hi guys, I used to post on here a while back (not a lot though) when I owned a 182, sadly after 3 months after purchase the car was written off :( I also needed something a bit more economical at the time so got a Fiesta ZS TDCi. Miles have dropped a lot since (only do 4k a year now) so I am...
Been seeing a few 182's around Blackpool now and was wondering if any of them were members on here
Arctic blue at the total garage on whitegate drive, and 2 different BG 182's both young male drivers, I got a nod of one near Preston new road if you're on here and remember lol
Yea he said I may need a blowtorch to get it off, when you say genuine kit, what do you mean? I have a genuine mani to cat fitting kit, and a new cat to silencer clamp, but I thought I would just use the existing lamba sensor.
I would slap him fred but he is a mechanic from the old school days...
Just been speaking to my dad and he told me to check whether or not I need some paste for refitting my lamba sensor?! He said its something with little tiny glass balls inside it so it doesnt jam once fitted. I said I hadnt heard about it in my research and he insited I double checked lol, so...
Well I will keep my eye on it, I will probably be best leaving it alone if it is very slow, removing the bolts will no doubt reopen the leak! So is it really that common on f4r's?
Yea exactly what I intend to do, I find it strange how it seems to reach a certain amount and stop leaking?! And how it has started seeing as though a good reputable specialist did the belts
Oh and any idea how this might of started since having its belts changed? Like I said it was Birchdown so I think it probably started after they did their work
Noticed my rocker cover is having the factory standard rocker cover oil leak! Last place that did the belts was birchdown so pretty sure the fault wont lie there! Anyway Ive kept my eye on how much oil has accumulated over the past 2 weeks, and it doesnt seem to have changed at all
Any ideas as...
Your insurance company won't really be checking your car to avoid paying out, HIS insurance company will be checking his though to avoid paying out for his car! I wouldn't loose any sleep about it, but next time declare for peace of mind
thanks for all the help, definately gonna do it myself now, as I said earlier I have just discovered we have ramps lol, all parts ordered just got to wait till wednesday to order the decat! Video will follow shortly afterwards lol pretty excited for it now
Anybody got a link for a genuine Renault cat fitting kit?
Also to change my mind again my dad says he actually have ramps so I will probably do it on my own now I know I can actually get the in the air lol
Anybody else had a bad experience with the k-tec fitting kit?
hmm tempted to let a garage do it now tbh lol I know I can do it, but I am rubbish when I run into problems, which I know doubt will lol a local garage say part and labour £130 but they cant get the part for 3 weeks! And I need it doing asap lol annoyingly they wont fit parts not bought by...
Hi I am going to fit my decat myself when it arrives and want to make sure I have all the right parts prior to starting, I am going to order a replacement clamp and some high temp silicone paste, what else should I be buying?
Thanks
It cant hurt but I doubt you're going to see much more improvement without spending mega money on it mate, you will find yourself putting in so much money you could of bought a 1*2
It seems to be an issue with scorpion exhausts, they dont seem to fit well with a standard cat, so I am replacing my cat with a scorpion decat for the fitment and sound, seeing as though it will be scorpion to scorpion it should eliminate the fitment issue, is your system all OEM?
