Well seeing as though it is her 80k birthday I thought I'd give the interior a long overdue spruce up! Needs some new mats but tried my best with the tired old ones I've got, that's me all detailed out for at least a week now.

I actually intend on running some track days in the future, is it common to remove shims for the track then? I can cope with the noise providing I know it's not harmful lol
My nephew decided to steal the battery from my DSLR and take it home with him, didn't ever get around to buying a replacement but finally had it returned it! Took this one today after restoring my headlights, quite like it!

Well I'm definitely not running any shims at the moment, both ds2500 and the Mintex pads are doing the same thing. As long as it's not a 'fault' as such, I'll just live with it!
Thanks for clearing that up though fellas
Just tried my dads, no luck! It's basically dropped in through the sidelight fixture hole and down to the front, bottom of the housing! Headlight out jobby I think, which I believe is a bumper off job haha. Well, gives me some room for a good engine bay detail I guess
Yea you need that direct light sometimes! Poor workmanship though, their final stage should be to have a slow inspection of the whole car using a very bright LED torch to highlight any defects such as that before applying. Thank god they weren't working with something like Ceramic Pro!
Yup, looks like they didn't finish off properly. Possibly didn't make any passes with a finishing polish and pad, I'd go back and ask them to rectify it
My headlights had begun getting a horrible yellow tint to them and were in need of a restore. Didn't bother with a kit as I've already got quite various grit sandpaper, DAS-6 DA and polishes.
I didn't think it would need too much wet sanding so I went with 800 grit followed by 1200. On final...
Hi,
I recently changed my front brakes from ds2500 to Mintex pads, mainly due to the insane squealing from the ds2500s but also because every time I applied the brakes I would hear the pads "slap" within the calipers.
I changed to the Mintex pads and everything was sorted, however 2 weeks...
Can't recall the brand of my towel but it'll dry the whole car without needs to be rung out at all so yea it helps!
Grit guards sit in the bottom of your bucket and prevent the loose dirt from moving towards the top and making it's way back onto your mitt/sponge. Every little helps lol
You may already use the 2-3 bucket method, but seeing as though you didn't mention it, I'll just make sure you do! You should use this approach every wash, otherwise you're removing contaminates from your car, dumping them in your bucket of water and then picking them back up on your mitt and...
Gave the car a "mini detail" today (just the exterior:monkey:). Such a lovely colour in the sun! After washing I clayed her and then finished with AF Triple and AF Tough Coat. Also gave the seats some attention as the driver side was getting a little grubby. Pictures don't do it justice but she...
Check all heatshields? It won't necessarily be hanging down and vibrating on the exhaust pipes, but it could be rattling in it's fixture. I would start by getting underneath and pressing on anything that could have movement to see if you can silence it
Also, I thought while I was replacing the air filter that I would clean the throttle body... it looked fresh out the box lol. @Lawro you really did keep this car immaculate!
Gave her a service today, she is about to hit the big 80k! Last full service was done only 4k miles ago so it's more of a pampering. The air filter was so clean I never even replaced it...
She was running ds2500 pads up front which were squealing like a pig and also grinding at slow speeds. If...
