Sounds very similar indeed. Mine will be a little more simple I think.
The stock headunit is a sculpted thing and single DIN conversions look awful, so it will stay. It's an alpine tape deck with a CD changer, so the idea is to hack a bluetooth receiver over the tape deck input which is pretty...
Yeah I was looking at that, I'd been looking at the Vibe version when I was looking at their speakers

Some of these small form factor amps are pretty impressive, especially when you...
Did you both drive them from an amp, or the headunit?
I'm going to connect them to the headunit for now (main driver for buying them is I'm changing the doorcards and want to finish the doors in one go) but I suspect I may go for a micro amp later.
Ahhh spec creep

Non clio question, I'd like to upgrade the speakers in my Jag XJ8. They come with a 6.5 mid in the lower door and a ~40mm tweeter by the doorhandle.
I've looked at Alpine type E which I've used in the past but the tweeters are 25mm. A friend recommended looking at Vibe, but their slick 6 6.5"...
I guess then as @Rob G suggests, what stops you turning the whole rod?
Otherwise I'd be inclined to agree, if the crank is known to be good then the next thing would be measuring the inside of the rod for roundness.
Nothings ever easy and it sounds like you've got a good handle on it
Have you confirmed that this cap is reversed by design in all of these engines?
Have you plastigauged the clearances to confirm this bearing is tighter than the others?
You've checked some old shells which eliminates a faulty new shell I guess. Positive the cap is the original one?
If the...
I've had the gearbox out of my 172 and I'm part way through refitting it all and have these bolts I can't place. Hopefully someone recognises them! Thanks
Thing with the clio modifying world is that the bits people modify generally are not typical of the modified car scene.
No ones pulling off cup suspension and installing cheap coilovers, in fact most people fit OE cup dampers with mild springs (Grams/cooksport/eibach) unless they're seriously...
I need to order sealant to reseal the rear main bearing cap. Due to the arrangement, I want a proper cartridge that goes in a gun, as opposed to a toothpaste tube.
Renault want £50 for it with no info of what it is.
Can anyone advise if it's normal RTV or something more specialised?
I'm looking for some help from the collective experience of CS!
172 Cup parts (I think) fall into three categories:
Parts which are the same as a Ph2 172 (for example the sideskirts)
Parts which are the same as a base model clio (windscreen)
Parts which were bespoke to the cup (alternator...
Is there a source of the renault parts catalogue covering up to 2003?
Looking at doing some tedious cross referencing, so really need access myself rather than someone who's happy to look up the occasional part.
Cheers
I believe the cup packed 182s had additional strengthing plates on the rear axle and a larger torsion bar. I've seen plenty of mention on the forum but no solid info on the differences.
Does anyone have any pics, or know well enough what it looks like to find some on google?
Cheers
Does anyone know if it's possible to buy the panel which ties the sill and the chassis leg together at the bottom of the bulkhead? Mines had the usual jacking damage both on the horizontal face and the sill flange folded over.
Cheers
