Re: Road/Track 172
Around about. I'm usually 5-10mph quicker through the bottom of Duffus than at the apex. I was doing 80 at the apex when I spun at the days end :headno:
Re: Road/Track 172
I'm getting just over 110 now in this new one John when I'm solo on both straights. Mental when you think 300bhp cars are getting similar.
Yeah you have done a proper job anyway, I thought mine was tidy but you must have spent hours on that.
Also is the manifold you have the one with the little indent for the subframe, if so stick some lock wire there so if it rubs through it doesn't uncoil.
You have made a proper job of that mate, I ended up wrapping the the 'y' piece as one piece as my 2" warp just wouldn't follow the lines. That looks like 1" wrap though.
My my pliers also broke during it :(
You'll be struggling for a straight swap given that the seatbelt clasp is attached to the seats. Some fabrication required anyway.
I built two base frames for my car last week for £30, if you half that add a bucket £50-60 and a harness £30 then you can do your side for under £100
Recaro pole positions are seatbelt approved but are also ££'s
I don't see why buckets need fitted with a cage, harnesses can be the 3 point buckle type so no different to a normal belt in terms off effort to clip in and you could get a full set for £300 or less if you shop about.
I have lost my iPad connection so I'll have to figure out how to edit on the comp, the videos too long to post.
You must have been looking in the mirrors, its like you never made an attempt at the corner really, anyway not a massive problem, its the quickest way around Duffus.
Is anyone looking for some top soil, I have a half ton of Knockhill's finest that can be delivered within reason around the Aberdeen area.
Oh and some gravel maybe too?
I am just looking through my footage yesterday, some good bits with all the Clio's . Oh and Fraser.J. I have your off
Re: Road/Track 172
I was fair with it, not my toys so I won't break them.
Thanks again for the shot, its a different beast all together from my last two. I can't comment on the RC kit as it was such a difference with less weight, different suspension etc.
I'll get some videos up when I get...
Cheers Impreza
Yeah Chi more or less, I can set the the tracking bob on but you need pretty level ground for a true camber reading. Its time consuming to adjust camber but I am going to start using large ramps to support the car off the ground for adjustments. Its more of a ball park...
No it will be grip grip grip then nothing which will by nature mean your are going a lot faster when things go wrong hence the organisers usually wanting only caged cars to run them.
I had the exact same problem as Jord, I came upto a hairpin with no other warning throughout the day and it just wouldn't select a gear.
No guide problems though.
All three clutches failed on the pressure plate too by the looks of it.
That makes sense then Neil. You'll have to inform me which mini runners you are getting your tyres from tomorrow.
Nice Clio that Gaz, but......... does it run?
I have the nankangs on the front and the toyo's on the back Alex, the fresh start/cold driving is interesting on the road tbh. I have went broadside a few time's totally unexpected.
I briefly used that setup Sat on track and it was okay when warm. Iirc the nankangs have a faster wear rating so...
Good stuff @neil a, be good to see you again.
Left field choice of tyres, never heard of them models before. Its went from a 40% chance of rain early on to cloudy all day on my weather report in 4 hours :dapprove:.
There is no point in predicting weather at KH, it has its own microclimate. I...
The last few final bits before tomorrow.
I wanted to check what I had been doing with my string rig so I had it on the hunter machine.
The rear beam is pap on with some toe out, just how I like it. I can only get 3.6 deg neg on the front before I hit the adjuster rings on the coilovers. Even...
Like this ^^^ pull the finger ;)
Anyone one that's going I am bringing some 16" pro race 1.2's in anthracite that could be doing with a refurb (Stone chips, no kerbing with spare spigot rings and centre caps) clad in 205/45/16 federal RSR's stil road legal with plenty of meat left. Yours for...
Re: E36 v2
Yeah I am on about using a wet liner that is removable from an old block as a compressor. Works well on loads of engines. Not really worth the hassle unless your doing the same engines fairly regularly.
