I went to check my trailer tonight up at my lock up and was gobsmacked when I seen this.
I had to get out and take a few pictures and I thought I would share.
Whats amazing is that with so much damage the interior hasn't been disturbed much if at all. Honda build a good car. The roof...
Yeah I like to paint these engines as they're scabby looking IMO. I only do it if I can get things blasted properly to get a good finish and not have overspray everywhere.
I had left the header tank soaking with bicarbonate soda over night but it didn't touch the scum so I then tried bleach which again done nothing. Going to give up I found some steradent and whacked that in with G101. Came out okay, not perfect but better and it was free.
As promised, after my...
More to come tonight :) I can't be leave I pulled the wiring off the TPS though, I have had to get a pin breakout from K-Tec, will hard wire it then have to reset the raw values on the lap top. Total nugget.
Thats good that its an option, that's what scares me about multiple days away from...
Yeah I have been before and despite it being flat it has camber changes and the the sunny in/out complex round the back is brilliant. I done a track walk with my mate who was racing and its a really green circuit and you need big balls to attack the two chicanes at any any speed, especially the...
I am 6'2" mostly leg and I'm compromised on seat position (same seat). If I had the foresight I would have moved the whole cage back 100mm when fitting it to aid room. I find the wing on the seats touch the 'b' pillar first as mine are set central to the pedals. I levelled out the seat base to...
Realistically just KH, I will make the journey south when I complete the racer. Its a 5 hour drive at least for Croft which is my 2nd closest circuit :(
Clean it up to my standards, enjoy the car on road and a few track days over the next few months and then return it to bog standard. I will keep/swap some bits with my race car and then sell most of it on for profit :)
First track day this Saturday.
That must have taken a while haha.
The car looks brilliant, much better without the red but you should have kept the yellow IMO.
Make a project thread or post in the media section with videos/pics as you do your trackday's.
Yeah exactly the difference in time will be negligible and you can paint/clean/check things properly with the engine out.
These engines do have a fairly high oil consumption supplied from factory, not Honda V-Tec high but still worth noting. I would be surprised if your engine isn't down on...
Gates kit comes with the cam timing plugs not the the cam seals.
I would agree, if your half decent with a spanner just replace the water pump when it shows signs of age.
Jet wash it and monitor to begin with.
A wet exhaust manifold will be the cam cover at the rear, oil will only ever go down from its point of escape so trace up until you find the leak.
I can side with you on wanting real advice other than hearsay but no need for name calling.
Get a gates kit (they make the OEM kit) http://bit.ly/1fMAbbp £75
Buy a genuine water pump from Adam circa £70
Buy a dephaser from Adam circa circa £125
Buy both inlet and exhaust cam seals from Adam...
Give it a go but I doubt it.
I just use full size plates with my private reg but I cut the sides off so it has the same gap around the letters. That looks good I think.
I can't think how small that will be but anything bigger than a 10mm gap from reg plate to plinth edge will look tird.
I'm funny about reg plates. The smoothed bumper just looks unfinished and an after thought.
Cheers Gaz, see I can work when I can be arsed :p
Yeah I have had one on both my track clio's and I rate them very highly. Last time I fitted one I done it just on its own with no other changes. Drove it, fitted it and then drove it again and the difference is unreal on full stuff, it completed...
Tonight I started on doing the belt and having a tidy up.
Started with this
Ended with this
By removing this
Stripped cup bracket and drained pas fluid for replacement.
Stripped out gen 90
Got the tools in, inlet cam was a fud hair out but nothing that would affect performance...
Yeah I have heard him being allusive a few times about it lol.
The metal work is the easy bit when you have laser cut plates and a plan its getting a good top mount designed that will move on 3 axis to a good degree that's hard.
I'm not keen on the circular eccentric type like the cossie's...
Yeah we await PMS strut tops although its still going to need all the cutting and welding doing, Renault could have done the job half decent for us at the start.
OR..... just make custom turrets and never have to roll about on the floor again adjusting things.
That would be the ultimate for me. Caster without tubbing, camber without wheels on and off a hundred times, KPI changes as you please.
