No it should have stopped spluttering when the new sensor was fitted (if it was faulty). Have you checked out the injectors?

If I was you I'd get a second hand genuine cat off here / eBay. My old 182 had an aftermarket cat, it was very restrictive and had quite a noticeable effect on performance.

I did indeed. One of the front spring had moved out of place, I re-seated it and it has been perfect ever since.
