    Any external card that can be fitted to a device (smart phone, camera etc.) is considered "expandable" memory, but they are a fixed size. Perhaps he is referring to that? For example my phone has 16Gb onboard storage but I can add another 16Gb, by installing a micro SD card.

    No point in upgrading the springs for 421's. And seriously, you are swapping from 438's to 421's???? - You will see ZERO gain. Essentially they are the same cam profile, just timed up differently iirc.

    You'll need to measure the diameter of your inner arms to order from, Adam. The size can differ depending on the rack model.

    Looking at that photo its definitely something steering related that's broken. Maybe it was that all along? I would fit new genuine inner arms mate, I am not convinced those pattern ones are correct :(

    Get the belts and cams fitted at Diamond Motors, Long Eaton. Don't drive like a tool with cams fitted and the car unmapped, keep revs below 4K. Get the car mapped at RStuning, Leeds. It cannot get much simpler than that.

    matt911 where in Derbyshire do you live? I would recommend MicKPM who runs Diamond motors in Long Eaton to do your belts and cams, give him a call / e-mail.

    Another stupid comment. Any decent garage wouldn't possibly fit parts you have supplied and warrant them. It wouldn't be any cheaper you buying the parts and a specialist fitting them.

    matt911 Timing belt is 72k miles or 5yrs. Aux belt kit is 36k or 3yrs. Those figures are the limit. I've seen aux belts / tensioners fail before that time. Get the belts replaced ASAP, you are driving a ticking bomb....

    You don't need an aftermarket ECU for 421's. Essentially 438's are the same as 421's just timed differently. If you raise the idle by a couple of 100rpm 421's idle and run fine on OEM management (obviously with a remap to suit).

    What are you doing with your fuel system? - I still don't know if I am going to run an alloy rail with return and inline FPR or stick with just the uprated pump.
