Gave everything a final torquing up this morning and been out for a spin and im pleased to say what ever you throw at it, it does not seem to knock any more so will have to wait and see. Combe next week will be a good test.

True there does seem to be a lot movement in the mounts. Gonna have another go tomorrow morn got a couple more ideas will let you know how i get on. Has anyone else put washers under box mount?

I used to have the usual knock under hard acceleration but was not bad and went away after a while. Anyway, since having my de-cat fitted it has upset the system big time and everytime i accelerated it started knocking heavily. It looked like the flange of the decat was hitting the subframe...

Just changing my gearbox mount under battery and noticed the long bolt that goes into gearbox pulled straight out. Im thinking there should be a nut on the end of it underneath, where it goes through the box am i correct.

Im lucky enough to have a 64 'S' as well as my cup and to be honest one of the reasons i bought the cup was for a modern car how similar it felt. I think its hard to compare the two as the mini is 50 years old next year. The mini is def an enthusiasts car i spend nearly as much time playing...

Fitted pro-lines to my cup and although there isnt much of a drop, it just levels the car out a bit. As for driving its kept the cup feel but feels more sure footed and less roll. Not a close up but you get the idea (nice overalls!!)

Hello, with ref to pulling the engine forward mines pulled forward to the tabs but what effect does loosening the centre bolt in mount and moving engine have.

Just had a go at changing the upper gearbox mount and i have a small prob. Im having trouble undoing the big nut in the middle of the mount. Does it need air gunning undone. I have tried all my tools and just seem to get flex from the mount.

Was thinking of the 182 manifold myself but had to put a bit of cash toward some paint work. Maybe one day. The decat was supplied through Gray on here PM him for details matey;)

Im tempted by one of these but I wonder if the increased RPM will have any effect on life of the engine. Just a thought.

Going for a decat at the mo and then see whats left over after 48k service, may then go for inlets or wheel refurb:S

Im thinking of spending a little money on the cup but not sure what to do, or change car. I was thinking of either fitting a decat or getting the inlets matched (I have a non -RS manifold). Which would be more beneficial to start with? Or getting shot of the cup and maybe go for a alfa gtv v6 or...

Getting the ecu reset sat hope that does it. Would be surprised if lamda has gone as the running prob was the plugs, unless the missing, backfiring etc has knackered the lambda?

Tried all of the ideas but no joy i hope that running it home from work the other day hasn't fooked the cat. I take it thats its going to be a renault job. Took it out for a little blast and it was running well

Got the old RAC out coilpack gone. The chappy didnt have a spare except for VAG cars as he said they eat coilpacks, so hes coming round my house tomorrow after i finish work to fit one just parts cost. Top service;)
