yeah i agree Chris, fairly flimsy design, looking at the bolt hole that cracked, there is only 1 mm of aluminium on the outer edge of the hole and only 2.5 - 3 mm in depth from where the have drilled for the bolts
making it out of steel should sort these issues though
wonder how many have had...
sorted all my car stuff in to a neat pile too, a car pests dream - if the wife was to see this and do some internet pricing .....dead man:poo::poo::poo:
here is the one i will take a template from
again you can see some of the damage and the crack that cost Tom an engine
i think most of this will be sorted by making it from steel rather than aluminium
Today i had a go at building up my Omex supercharger brackets just to see the design lay out and tbh its rubbish, really shocked that they designed this way
as you can see this one has already cracked and been welded back up, this is how it looks all set up (DannyR's car iirc)
so alternator...

I done a small guide when fitting my pump may be of use to you
I purchased it from here iirc

You can get some thicker gaskets than what k tec sell and they work quite well in reducing heat transfer
Would not be that hard to make a far cheaper version

Have a read of this thread for a solution to a better manifold imo
I would be looking at something similar in design to either the pug sport? Intake mentioned above or something like a Gruppe m ect
http://hondaperformanceparts.co.uk/gruppem-air-intake-system-civic-ep3-type-r
Then use more heatproof intake hose than a samco silicon pipe
Maybe a ceramic coated...
Thanks, i love a hairy one
today i gave it a good layer of VHT paint ( halfords own brand )
and got some pulleys back on the engine, bit of trial and error at the moment as unsure on what bracket/mounts i will be using for charger
now have 2 weeks at home with the boy so will be packed...
so main effort for tonight was to get to the point of sump on
started off by checking the oil pump for gunge, and checking all teeth , i deburred the oil inlet slightly as it was not a great casting and do not want any of that breaking off
at least the pump looks clean, got all the seals done...
Check the oil level of the charger after a test drive, the proper way, if it's low on oil walk away
ask what pulley size is on it and what the rev limit on it goes to - over speeding the charger is bad
