I have 3 particular access points to the canal easily accessible to me for a walk, so the vast majority of shots will be from those (probably a 3 mile stretch in total). So changes to particular areas should be visible. A vid at the end is a great idea, I was tempted to shoot some actual video...
Great captures, as mentioned they do appear to be underexposed (very easy to sort though), also the vignette on the swan is a bit strong, in my opinion.
I love he 4th shot of the squirrel eating.
As I'm not able to work much at the moment and need to regain some fitness I've been walking along my local canal pretty much every other day. Amazing place that I've had on my doorstep all my life but hardly ever gone near it. My aim is to shoot it for a whole year, as luck would have it the...
Just over 5 minutes to go from 10cm all over to this using the soft side of an ice scraper (wasn't quite that clear, had a quick run around the block to pick somebody up which blew off the odd bits), no excuse imo...

Plenty of people out today with tiny clear areas on their windscreens and nothing else, snow covered lights, tailgating, overtaking in 30mph zones etc.
Probably quicker to list what it's not used for. 99% of my web surfing, nearly all of my gaming, but as for stuff beyond that...

If you want blurry water use Shutter Priority (TV on Canon, S on everything else) and use the slowest speed possible depending on how bright it is out. Even in sunlight it should be fine there, 1/4 second will still give you blurry water as it flows very very quickly.
This (not Niagara!) was...
Need a 'photographer' to work for free all day (if Dan isn't already doing it)? Happy to shoot from start to finish and can dump all the high res images on my web space for people to download as they please (I've done a similar thing for he Renaultsport track days before), no strings attached.
Nothing wrong with the composition or setting, in my opinion (it wouldn't have looked right in the centre).
The pin thing could possibly have done with a bit more light on it though, it looks quite 'flat' and needs to pop out a little more. Some daylight reflected on it or something would...
Living in rural Wiltshire and rarely being exposed to 'the real world' I had a shock today when I spotted a Saxo that got a bit warm...

Their website is down, unsurprisingly. As I understand it most of the high value Nikon/Canon/Olympus/Sony/Panasonic etc stuff will just go back. The only stuff they will be selling cheap is things like their own branded accessories.
All confirmed now anyhow, no vouchers or returns.
No I sold it (lenses have already gone, 5D is on eBay at the moment). I was seriously ill last summer and it's left me very weak, I took a few walks over Christmas and just got incredibly frustrated with the bulk of it (and I hadn't even added a motorsport lens yet), so I'm back to M4/3. I...
Great thread idea, I often have little things to ask (or mention) that don't really warrant a whole new thread.
In 'ukaskew has something clinically wrong with him based on how often he changes kit' news, I'm back to Micro 4/3 as of this week. Shocked at how far it's moved forward in the past...
Speaking of primes, 35mm 1.4 arrived the other day, incredible lens. Popped up the road to the most decorated house in the UK...

New Star Soccer, probably, fallen out of love with console gaming and ended up rigging up my Mega Drive and Dreamcast permanently to enjoy, but as far as 'new' stuff goes, NSS is the pick of the bunch. Forza Horizon pretty much summed up everything that's wrong with current console stuff for me...
Gorgeous mouse pic!
Obsessed with my 135mm, just ordered the 35mm 1.4 to compliment it (traded in my 24-105 f4), I had to stand in the far corner of the room to take this...

Practical Photography isn't too bad for projects/ideas etc. The problem with all of them is that they just cycle through the same stuff every year though, so after 12 months you've pretty much seen everything.
^^^ Great catch on the robin, were you a long way from it?
I can't stop shooting at the moment, it appears that all you need to re-find your mojo is to spend a load of money on a lens!

Fantastic lens, best I've ever taken on a trip with me, 10.5mm + New York = Heaven

Enjoy it!
Fantastic shots. Not sure if you can go into detail, but have you managed to keep copies of all of your work photos? I wasn't sure if you just handed them over and never saw many of them again (particularly after you left).
Yep it's going to take some getting used to, never had such shallow DoF at that long a focal length, I had lots of shots where my intended focal point was completely out of focus because I had locked on just past or in front of it.
I love this one too...
