Personally just a FF camera and the basic boggo 50mm 1.8 will highlight an immediate 'magic-ness' (a proper honest to goodness 50mm is also a really nice focal length). The problem comes with fleshing out your kit, the 70-300 VR is actually pretty good on the D600, as I understand it, but...
In terms of static stuff I agree, in fact I think like for like the picture quality is better than any conventional APS-C I've used, particularly with the ridiculously good range of lenses Fuji have released so far. AF is also absolutely bang on every time, I can say honestly I've never taken an...
Weirdly, no. The Fuji is tiny and has all the picture quality I need. For whatever reason I'm taking photos that I'm far happier with now, quite a bit different to my older stuff but I think having a tiny camera has made me far less self conscious.
They had the Goodwood hill course running on demo pods at the FoS, only had a brief play but the handling felt far more 'agreeable' to me than previous GT games, dare I say slightly leaning towards Forza, which should mean the slower stuff is more enjoyable to drive.
A few from the FoS today, first time at a big event with my little Fuji gear, can't believe how much easier it made things, particularly in the heat. Cracking day as always, but the Friday has lost its 'enthusiasts' charm, it's essentially just another madly busy day now (compared to a few years...
This looks horribly complex, but if you look at it in detail it will begin to make sense when you start taking photos. Personally unless I'm shooting motorsport of long exposure night shots my camera lives in Aperture Priority ('A') mode
Having trekked around Silverstone just for my own 'enjoyment' taking photos many times I appreciate the effort and energy that's gone into these, even with the occasional shuttle bus it's a massive place to reach the angles you want. Love the blog-write up, really goes to show how challenging it...
Serial numbers beginning 12 and 13 (and some 14) including one of the letters A, L, M or N are known to have/develop the sticky aperture blade (SAB) issue. I think there was a 3% failure rate but worth bearing in mind.
http://www.fujix-forum.com/ is a great forum/resource.
As for accessories...
I headed down to Gurston Down today armed with the X100, X-E1 and 55-200mm. Despite only being 50 minutes down the road I've never been before, it's an amazing little venue with near unlimited access for spectators, I will be back!
The Fuji kit has really made me think about every shot, it's...
That cloth vid is amazing, really puts the so-called next gen in the shade.
When I read your spec the cost implications of such a beast blew my mind...then I considered that I have well over £2k of camera equipment sat here that gets used two or three times a week, and it put things in perspective.
Forced Kinect, erm, connection still has me very wary of this. My XBox is set up in the study and runs through the PC monitor on my desk, I can't see Kinect working (or being able to sit anywhere) in that situation and they've been pretty vague about how it will have to be used, can I just throw...
I think that was part of the problem. Great if you never trade games, but a huge number do purely to fund more new games, that can't be ignored. The 'I have a solid net connection, get over it' type comments were also maddening, just look at the mess with Sim City, even having a decent...
Ouch, a few people 'stepping down' in the Microsoft HQ tomorrow then.
Haven't they stated that the whole cloud thing is integral to the system before? How does that work now?
In the UK? They aren't showing up in a Completed Items search, the only one I was watching was withdrawn from sale, presumably as they received an offer outside of the bidding system. Another went as a Buy it Now within minutes. I looked every day for a few weeks on a good 20 or so different...
Rocking my little Fujis today again, loving it!

The colours are amazing from the X-E1, JPEGs are as good as anything out there. Was it Ken Rockwell that said they were dull?! Compared to a DSLR it is slow(ish), but I'm happily shooting motorsport with mine.
Hard to help you out to be honest, the Fujis are a completely different concept to...
Seeing as it's near impossible to track down an X100S I would say they're underpriced! I agree though, a pro shooting weddings (many do now) would probably appreciate the upgrades, for me, not so much.
Very happy with the lens line-up and roadmap for Fuji X, they are covering all the bases gradually and the quality of every lens so far has been very, very high. I considered NEX as well as I really wanted at least APS-C, but imo their lens line-up, even with third party options just doesn't cut...
As per the other responses the X100 is a fixed 23mm lens, but the X-E1 is interchangeable, 6 or 7 lenses available so far for that, all immense. The primes are awesome but for practical reasons I went with the two fast-ish zooms (which are still awesome).
I don't think I've done one of these shots before, but the arrival of my X100 LE means my camera bag is complete and ready for my American travels in a few months. Amazing what you can fit in a fairly small camera bag when you haven't got a DSLR...
