I shot motorsport with the original 5D no problems, not sure what the issue is to be honest, it didn't feel noticeably slower than any other body I've owned. Lack of reach was a bit of a bugger, mind.
Far too much emphasis on these things imo.
360 all the way for the past few years but wouldn't even contemplate a Xbox One with it's draconian restrictions.
PS4 for me, easier for indie games, region free, no trade-in restrictions, most people I know are switching. Will probably give it a year at least before buying though, quite happy...
Probably the only guy in the country shooting motorsport with a Fuji X today...

AF was surprisingly good, much easier than I had imagined actually.
I still have my first console under the TV in the games room, Atari 7800, still works like a charm 26 years later, as does every single one of my original games. Will I be able to play any XBone games in 26 years? Highly highly unlikely. The licences may not have changed that much, but the...
My Fuji XF 55-200mm (which is near impossible to source at the moment) has gone missing courtesy of Parcelforce. Posted yesterday by WEX, apparently delivered at lunchtime today and signed for by myself (although the sig they've supplied is illegible). I was at work all day today, no card in...
I second that one, along with the Tamron 90 it's generally regarded as the best bang for buck macro...

After a while using the site now I really like the layout, for looking at a set of my pictures at a glance it's great. However, browsing photos and doing basic things like sharing a bunch of photos on a forum is significantly slower now in my opinion, loading times and moving between photos is...
Panasonic, Olympus, Sony and Fuji this year :) I've been on very reduced hours at work since October due to my health, so had far too much time on my hands to think about these things, back to full-time next as of next week so need to settle on a system and I think the Fuji is it. Financially...
Yep, all of it. a77/16-50 2.8 and the Tamron 90mm Macro are on eBay, 50mm 1.4 and 100-300mm f4 have already gone. Really liked it but missed smaller kit, I've already taken the X-E1 on more random trips than the a77, feel very at home with it so hopefully I've settled on a system now.
I've...
I had a proper 'wow' moment when I opened this thread, superb photography. It's fruitless trying to pick a favourite as they work so well together as a set, but I keep going back to #5, I think mainly because of the dude in the shades. I love the way that despite many being crowd scenes, they...
I've joined the Fuji love-in with an X-E1, love it, as somebody who actively avoids editing I'm loving the JPEGs this thing produces.

Yep as above, house insurance will do the trick. I specified the total value of items I take away with me, and also the most expensive single item. Only added about a tenner to our annual premium despite £3k cover with a £1k limit per item.
Will still be going to events all the time, but need a new challenge so I'm planning to shoot pretty much everything but on-track action...paddock stuff, circuits, crowds etc, a bit like the first few pics above, well outside of my comfort zone! Bought Fuji X gear with the funds which will never...
7 years of practice :) Roughly 120 events by my count. Plus two years out with M4/3 equipment helps, after re-learning to shoot motorsport with that it's a walk in the park going back to a DSLR/SLT now. Really bored with it though, going to try a completely different approach from now on.
This was my last event (in a conventional photography sense anyway), sold all my gear yesterday, off to a new home tomorrow. Completely bored of it, going to try some new things next.
Thought I would throw these out there as I've not really been in the DSLR/Motorsport arena for a few years now, finally managed to dip my toe back in the water over the past 2 months...

Arrived nice and early for this one today, bit of a failure though, walkabout lens broke within 10 minutes (2 days old!) so I had to try and salvage a few from everything I took in the morning, then my pneumonia got the better of me (it doesn't like warm weather) and I had to leave after Race 1...
I love 10, seen a similar sort thing from Le Mans before, the contrast between the race track and the road is great.
I also really like 16, as much as I appreciate your success/skill with slow panning I think you have a real eye for tighter faster shots in terms of framing, composition etc.
This is a space-framed silhouette, essentially. If they built it to EU crash/safety regs, added a few essentials for a road car, with that engine I guess it would be a whole lot heavier than a tonne.
Or stick a close-up filter on an existing lens you have, cheap and does the job surprisingly well. This was taken with the Nikon 18-55 kit lens (from the Nikon D50 days) with a screw on close-up filter...
