Re: My Inferno Orange 182 Project Thread - Fast Road/Occasional track day car....
Well busy couple of days for me - I bought some wheels off Gumtree and ended up driving a 625mile return trip to North of Aberdeen to collect them.
The wheels are lovely high metallic silver williams wheels with...
Got a Sierra XR4x4 as well - it would be cool getting that on the rollers to see if its running right.
Its the 2.9 V6 with induction kit, exhaust & Collins chip so should be at least standard power (circa 145-150bhp). Not a lot from such a large engine but its old school and I love it haha
Rob
Going to be ordering a new exhaust and after listening to a few clips and looking at the fit I think Ktec will be used to supply it.
However I noticed there was a choice of Sport and Ultra in both Resonated and Supersport (only 1 silencer).
What is the difference between the Sport & Ultra...
Re: My Inferno Orange 182 Project Thread - Fast Road/Occasional track day car....
Cheers for the comments - its starting to get the way I want it.
Next month will be big changes all being well

Re: My Inferno Orange 182 Project Thread - Fast Road/Occasional track day car....
That's the aim haha - I definitely need some form of Recaro's in as don't think the standard seats support my upper back very well
Just cant wait to get the next raft of mods sorted out to really improve the car
Rob
Re: My Inferno Orange 182 Project Thread - Fast Road/Occasional track day car....
Today I wanted to sort the badges out on the car, didnt like the black Clio badge and the Sport badge.
Removed these and got a standard Clio badge for £2 from the scrappy.
Also removed the front and rear...
Cheers for the comments - like having a choice of car so struggle just having 1 haha
Did put the XR up for sale but couldn't go through with actually selling it in the end haha
Re: My Inferno Orange 182 Project Thread - Fast Road/Occasional track day car....
Well another day and thankfully a day off so managed to start working through my list of jobs of the Inferno.
First up was sorting the aged headlights as these really let the car down when the paintwork is so...
Just going over my car looking for what I want to improve and found the front mount of the airbox is floating in mid air with no where for the lug to push in to.
Anyone able to show my a pic of what should be there to mount on to?
Appears to either come off slam panel
Many thanks
Rob
Thought I would start a build thread to keep a track of what work I am doing with the little Inferno 182.
Bought it like this from DTM cars and the weather was horrendous:
Today managed to spend some time on the car:
- Tracking set as pulled to the left very slightly
- Anthracite...
I personally would highly recommend DTM cars.
Initial plans are:
- Badges to all redo
- New style RS badge
- Cooksport lowering springs
- Pure Motorsport top mounts and strut brace
- Turini's same as my previous flamer
- Exhaust with decat
Plenty to do so need to get some time off work to get...
New car picked up today - big thanks to DTM cars - excellent service throughout my buying experience.
Car is a 182 FF in Inferno Orange - love this colour.
I was looking for another flamer but fell in love with this cracking little motor.
It is an ex Cliosport.net car with at least 1 owner...
I used to run without a middle space but after getting some friendly advice off a Traffic Cop I just run them normal:
Have this one ready for the Clio:
Ran it last time on my previous flamer but legally:
My brothers black 1.2 there as well with his legal plates on
It is indeed but these are quite old pics from events that were on - great seeing the variation though
Just had the family day on Sunday where the plant was open for visits
Rob
Some shots of what I get to see at work:
Juke R
Leaf Nismo RC:
Juke Nismo Dark Knight Edition:
Juke Nismo Custom:
Delta Wing:
GTR Racer:
Drifter:
Also took out the 370z around the factory test track and had a passenger session in the GTR:
As for carparks -...
I had the Ktec coilovers and didn't rate them at all - changed for a set of good condition second hand H&R coilovers and was superb - I had pure motorsport top mounts & strut brace with this setup and can honestly say it was probably one of the best handling cars I have driven.
I would be...
Didn't think I would be back but I am missing my little Clio and been looking around at 172's and 182's again.
Can easily see myself back in one in a few months but this time will be for an everyday car/occasional track car.
Will keep my XR4x4 project updated in the other marques section...
Was in Carlisle picking up some parts for my Sierra and passing the Macdonalds near the car dealerships saw what looked like pier's and a blue sport - both looked very clean and lovely cars
