Full machine polish, new exhaust mounts/gaskets, front bumper repainted and new splitter, refurb Turini's with new set of tyres plus plenty of other bits.
He didn't bond with it. Likes the power of this but regrets selling his old 182 so this has instantly got smiling again.
I have driven the...
Will be getting full machine polish with front bumper getting repainted. The Clio badge will be replaced with the new style RenaultSport badge I think he said. Original Turini's will be refurbed, he has bought a set of OZ F1's today with winter tyres on so will be on them while rest of the work...
I love jobs like this hahaha - think my Girlfriend was more worried than me. Had mine open upto 60mph and seems ok - only got it for track where its varied speeds and not sustained high speeds.
Hoping it will be ok
Well my brother @matty1995 on here sold his lovely little 182 to chase what he had dreamt of owning for a while - a liquid yellow stage 2 R26.
So he went from this:
Onto this R26:
Then he realised his mistake, his old Clio went to a good home so he couldn't buy that back, after looking...
Well got even more done so am quite happy. Used the car everyday over the Festive break and never missed a beat.
Santa (Girlfriend) brought me a genuine Spec C roof vent kit and Killer B windage tray for the sump:
So on the morning of Boxing day I got the dremel out and cut the roof for the...
Perfect 2 car combo right there haha. If I had known how far I was going with the Impreza I would have bought a Spec C so had the lightweight parts, better steering and smaller tank, cant complain though this car should do me proud.
Very similar reg as well haha
This was at my parents not my place haha
The R27 clio and Fiesta ST are the neighbours. Mine is the STI impreza, brother has the R26 Megane, parents have the Wrx and a mate has the Seat.
We had been out for a boost out and the cars were disgusting
Well got a lot sorted ready for next year:
6 point safety devices rollcage modified for double diagonal and harness bars added
New 4 point sparco harnesses fitted with spreader plates
Larger fire extinguisher added
TRS helmet net
Changed horrible orange side stickers for blue/white versions...
38 is a great, responsive turbo for around 360-380bhp. That's what I was told by Scoobyclinic anyway haha
Ooh, hard decision. Will be completely different but depends if you enjoy the sliding notions of your car haha
Get one, best thing you will do.
Running 333bhp at present but need slightly more poke for the sprints next year as straight line speed was the only fault I could find.
Will be running top mount and keep an eye on how it goes. Car does have the intercooler spray bar as standard so this will...
Well how things have changed, the car has gone from being a full time road car to being prepared for racing in sprints.
So covering the last few months, made the car all pretty:
Replaced the crappy DS2500 pads with Pagid RS29 Yellow pads:
Had another great testing day at Elvington doing...
Attended my second trackday at Elvington yesterday along with my brother in his 182 & Tom in his 172 Turbo.
Great day and had some photos taken by someone in the family - some great cars out and Impreza was perfect.
Plenty photos to look over:
My Impreza:
Matthews Clio (@matty1995)...
Ebay - mine are made by Tegiwa and are only £35 for a set.
Have seen them a few times and thought they would be a great way of protecting my BC coilovers, will see how they do on the next trackday and fingers crossed they don't come off haha
The car has just been in for a few more bits at MB Motorsport:
- Gearbox oil
- Diff oil
- AS Performance gear selector bush kit
- Perrin dogbone mount
Then popped around to Kev's to pick up the new ducts he had made up for me and painted:
Got them fitted on and look superb
Also got the...
Cheers for the comments - the spoiler on the spoiler stops the top blade wobbling above 120mph. Purely practical - a local lad is designing an under floor full rear diffuser as well as a gurney style flap for under the rear spoiler. Ordered a set of new air ducts for the front that he is having...
Well haven't updated this for a short while so here goes:
Got some OZ Racing Superleggera's in 18x8" and had them refurbed in anthracite also got new tyres for the 18" alloys - 235/40/18 AD08r's:
Plus topped up the spare room with parts:
M3 lip spoiler fitted:
Wheels refurbed by SEM...
Yeah that's my Impreza - the homemade baffle was an attempt to try and be allowed full boost. The Atom was really loud but apparently just under the driveby limit where as mine was ok until full boost. Never mind was a great day. Only scrubbed off 2-3mm off the AD08 tyres in 110 miles around...
Been going through some of the videos and here is 2 of them - 1 is superb quality from my GoPro fitted to the front bumper and the other is a jumpy vid someone did from the side of the track.
Had a day at Elvington today and now some members were there playing in their Clios......
I was in the Impreza and didn't get much of a chance to talk to everyone as had my family there getting passenger rides. Did get to talk to some people and hope to see them again at the next Elvington day...
Just booked on track for this but using it as a shakedown day in my Impreza.
My brother is coming along in his 182 (@matty1995) but he is passenger in mine on track.
