Well spent some time on the Impreza over the last few weeks.
Got a Cusco rear chassis brace and brackets to fit my RB320 diffuser:
Also got the rear arches cleaned out and painted up for some extra protection:
The coilovers went on at MB Motorsport and am playing around with the...
I went to look at 3 - ended up doing 1000 miles over a weekend going end to end of the country looking at them. I wanted a low mileage standard version and ended up with this - 70k on clock and not standard haha. I did this because it drove much better than any of the others - mechanically it...
They aren't a cheap runner I agree haha - currently getting between 180-220 miles to £70 of V-Power. Smiles per gallon is much more important ;)
Its worth the money on fuel - I have put a fair few miles on mine already as had quite a lot of days out driving with the family.
Cheers!
Best...
It wont have been this model haha - you can get a standard STi or even a type UK for that money but you cant get a widetrack version with the DCCD gearbox.
Yep and even then they will have the usual few stone chips/rust dots on the roof thanks to the very thin paint. The very best examples are...
They were available over here as proper UK models - this is a WRX STi Type UK model. You could get an import version with a twin scroll turbo setup but I wanted a UK model.
Cheers! Will pass on the parts - the flare sounds great but would probably end up setting it off haha.
You wont go...
Looking smart, with the dump valve I would look at the GFB range - my STi came with a Bailey DV and was horrible. Now got a selectable GFB version and can run varying amounts of atmospheric and recirc. Works great.
It does look smart - shame about the damage - some people have no respect for...
Well the hideous plates are now in the bin haha... and got a few more mods on:
- stripped the headlights - detangoed and painted the inners
- rear debadge bar the STi badge
- carbon exhaust trim
Also got a spare set of wheels ready for semi slicks and a repaint in anthracite as well as the BC...
As far as the dump valves go on these my top tips are - don't use Bailey's (they run very poor). Also make sure the map is tweaked to suit whatever dump valve is on to make sure it takes into account the change in performance and air flow.
Mine had the Baileys - came with the car, was sticking...
The car came with these plates and not wasting money changing them when I am waiting for my private plate to be assigned to the car haha. Will be sorted within a fortnight hopefully.
Well been fairly busy this last few days.
Cheers for all the comments - I paid £10k for it which isn't to bad considering they are still fetching more money than a lot of Hawk Eye Imprezas.
Today I went to Scoobyclinic and had the following done:
- GFB 50/50 dump valve
- Perrin boost solenoid...
Well I sold my little 1.0 Mk2 Fiesta around a month ago and a couple of weeks later I picked this up to replace it. They aren't comparable, even slightly haha. Fiesta was a stop gap project while I bought my new house and now that's happened its back to something fruitier.
I had promised...
No chance haha - it was bought to enjoy and they aren't nice to drive in modern traffic with original suspension, brakes and tyres.
Definitely ;)
Cheers
I love the base models and the arches hide the tin worm. I will be keeping it on the standard arches even when it has the full...
Well my Inferno Clio has gone and I have replaced it with a cracking little Fiesta.
It isn't perfect but it is superb fun.
It is a 1.0 Popular Bonus (dealer special).
It has 27k on the clock (genuine) and came nice and standard.
As it came around 2/3 weeks ago:
As it arrived today by...
If you try and get in on a group buy the IPD versions are superb and fully serviceable.
Never tried any of the Elevate gear though - heard some good reviews on some of there bits for the C30's.
Have you checked the boost solenoid is ok? From my experience the standard ones are quite woeful, IPD make a lovely upgraded one which is a direct fit. Fitted one to mine with no further problems.
Love a project like this - great fun for when people don't know whats under the bonnet.
Heres a little spec list off my previous Focus ST which ran 352bhp and 435Ib/ft, maybe of some use if you wanting to get even more:
- K06 Dreamscience hybrid turbo & manifold
- Forge actuator
- Forge recirc...
Quick update on mine seen as it is now being returned to standard and sold to fund a house move:
Some nice pictures I took:
And then I fitted 172 black headlights:
Will be gutted to see this one go
My old flamer was very loud compared to my current 182 with a milltek decatted system - that had a 182 manifold, ktec link pipe (decat) & Janspeed cat back
Was a nice noise though not just a loud horrible noise
Got to agree - even slightly modified Clio 172/182's really aren't very quick in a straight line but the cornering ability more than makes up for it 90% of the time.
Not sure on pricing but would consider one providing it said Renault Sport rather than Clio Sport and as others have said lose the va va voom as well. Personally I think Clio 182 would sit better where the va va voom was with Renault Sport as the large text.
Cheers for the comments - love that is different to most other peoples cars. This isn't the first Clio I had gold wheels on mind - my old Flamer had gold Williams wheels fitted as well:
Haha - I have had a few people ask but struggle for time in all honesty. This month I have to work my...
Cheers
Haha - I hate driving a dirty car so I wash it as often as I can. When I used to have 3 or 4 cars it was ideal as had a daily to abuse and not wash then 2 decent cars that were ready to roll all clean and shiney. Cant wait to get more cars again once I have bought a house.
It is marmite with the wheels in gold haha
Cheers for the kind comments, still haven't decided on a colour for the wheels but will be done in time for the better weather
Well the Inferno had a good cleaning session on Tuesday and also got a new set of Speedline centre caps to go on the gold alloys.
Was nice to spend a day on the cleaning, got loads done and trialled a load of new cleaning gear:
Rear quarter beading by robarmstrong1988, on Flickr...
Will give it a try next time - I once accidently scratched a lens when sorting out my camera gear so I have always put a UV filter on after that. I think I will be investing in a better tripod as this one is around 1-2 months old and it is already starting to get quite wobbly in mild breezes.
I use a UV filter on my 50-200 lens - this is purely as protection to the lens. Don't use any other filters on nightshots. Some of the pics were taken on my 18-55 which I haven't got a filter set for as yet.
Cheers! Just fitted a set of new gold Speedline centre caps so just need to decide on a shade of gold for the refurb and it should be looking a lot fresher
Cant see me running out of things soon haha - its a pain trying to keep the Inferno clean this time of year. Also got my brothers Arctic blue to finish as well as make a start on my Mam's Impreza as it really needs a good clean.
Tried finding some reviews on it but not many people appear to have used it - will try and find the thread on here.
I like having a mixture of cleaning gear - use a lot or Poorboys, Dodo Juice, Menzerna and Autoglym gear as well but you can get some cracking deals when buying loads of bits...
