I was at Pipecraft today mate getting a box cut out of my van. I spoke to the guy doing the work and told him about your issue.
He said the same as I was thinking, in that going down to a smaller bore will not stop the drone and that a leather middle box with more packing will.
The only thing...
😂 Ok, ill do a before and after. I really don't think there will be much difference tbh but you may hear the tiny turbo or a bit more noise, i don't know.
This morning i drove over the PipeCraft and spoke to Dean about chopping off the back box and making up a S/S pipe, he wasn't able to do it there and then so ive booked it in for tomorrow morning at 11.
The old box is fooked and about to drop off.

Well im not going to work on a dirty van.....
Be careful mate, i think it was only the Bug Spec C that doesn't have a spoiler just like it doesn't have air bag's or electric windows. Im sure the later ones do so they are not as "hardcore" as the bug.
Haha, its alright. I may fit spacers...
I had a single box stealth with a 182 manifold and de cat.
It was loud I guess but the biggest issue was it being a stealth, my god did it drone, thank fook I don't have the same problem with the impreza.
Nice car. I have a bugeye Spec C type RA, I did Bedford in mine. It was my very first track day and all I was after was learning about the car. At the time I was on Goodyear eagle F1s, not the best tyre for track but it was fun.[emoji23][emoji41]
I had my standard VF34 roller bearing turbo billeted mate, just had a larger compressor wheel and housing fitted (from 46mm to 50mm) I also run a DV but its fitted under my intercooler and is quite.
Nice work bud, it sounds great.
Ive now finished the engine service and fitted the new front brakes, i gave the calipers a clean before i fitted them. There was also a slight oil leak from the engine sump pan so i drained the oil, removed the pan, cleaned and re sealed with Three Bond sealant (its used on Subaru engines)
What...
Thanks for taking the time to read it mate, i just want something a bit newer and maybe a bit bigger. I keep on looking at the Peugeot Expert but with the 2.0 HDI engine with 128 bhp, should be quick.
I would love a VW Caddy but they are either bloody expensive or done moon miles which i don't...
It is but I'm told it's not a good thing. When I had the impreza mapped for the first time on the standard turbo I got turbo flutter.
When I had the turbo billeted and remapped the turbo flutter went and I don't know why.
I'd use a proper body sealant to bond the spoiler on, the stuff I've used in the pass is Tiger seal, it comes In white and black and bonds like fook once cured.
After running in does it go for an oil and filter change?
You can only run an engine in with mineral oil, not synthetic oil.
400 miles is plenty and if the engine has already got synthetic oil in it then I don't see what you're running in?
All your doing is bedding the piston rings into the...
Today was the start of van service day, i made a start on the rear of the van, first thing was to tackle replacing the handbrake cables and then onto adjusting the rear shoes and doing a brake fluid flush (i do this every year)

New cables...
Haha, cheers mate. ive owned it for 8 years and would really like something a bit nicer to travel to and from work in but its worth nothing and is very handy to have, I rent a garage so i use it to collect my valeting stuff when i have a cleaning job to do and my tools when im working on the...
Made a start on servicing the van, replaced the handbrake cables, adjusted the rear brakes and carried out a brake fluid change while it was jacked up.
Still got all filters to change, oil change and replace the front brakes.
Still got the old bus, i should really sell it and buy something a bit newer. Its on 175K (engine is on 75k ish and doesn't use any oil or coolant between the 12k services) Touches wood!
So the Christmas period is service time, another 12k done.
Stuff bought, engine oil from Opie oils the rest...
