I originally rivited the canards on as that's how they were held together but have since used more of the caphead bolts for security. Main reason being I caught one with my leg and pulled it off...
So clearly they weren't on good enough
Next I drilled into the front cross member and fitted 6mm captive rivnuts.
I made 2 alloy plates and attached them with caphead bolts.
I then used some aluminium box section I pulled out of the skip from a sales sign that had buckled in the wind and was not repairable. Cut it to length...
Ok next....
Some large boxes turned up at work in reception and I was told to move them immediately as they were in the customers eye line. I couldnt remember ordering anything so when I eventually remembered it was a nice little surprise.
CM composites goodies had arrived !
Door cards are...
Well...
Inlets matched are £185ish
Group N is either buy the tool and do it yourself or pay @bloke to do it.
Tool on here is £100
You have the 182 manifold
Ktec induction kit £150
EFI £200ish
So say £600
In comparison I'm running Jenvey throttle bodies with gen 90 ecu with group N timing at...
The matched inlets with the ktec induction, groupN timing, 182 manifold is the power route I would go after everything I have learnt on here over the years. With a trip to EFI should see close to 200bhp for not alot of money.
But the guys are right.
Brake, tyres, suspension. Go drive it and...
Welcome to the forum m8. If it does turn out to be the box at fault then NorthLoopCup on here is your man. He does all the race and track boys gearboxes aswell as road going.
Did you grease the release bearing when you put it in and are you sure they were genuine bits?
After waiting 2 weeks for the push button quick release mounting form Benjeneering.com to turn up they had finally arrived at work and promptly fitted them that night.
Pretty self explanatory to fit, just took a while to figure out where they would be best mounted.
Once I worked it out I...
Last things to do before it can go home is to fit the ebay special genuine skoda fabia front splitter, which I've got to be honest looks basically the same as the cup ones do at a fraction of the price and it wont crack or smash into a million pieces if gets hit by even a fly!!
Then I machine...
At some point I do have another bonnet and a set of bonnet vents to fit, but that's not really at the top of my list. Body work always comes after mechanical soundness.
So whilst it was sat at work and all of my tools within reaching distance I figured I should sort some bits inside that were...
So you can put coilovers on, lower the car, change spring rates and dampering, fit camber bolts and change the castor.... but you cant change a bottom ball joint and track rod end??
I suppose it makes it fair for those who cant afford all the trick parts so they can stay competitive
If your doing role centre and bump steer you want a @NorthloopCup set aka Mark. The ACS ones snap, which is bad enough on track but winding up a single track hill climb theres no running off.
Quality bit of kit
Right where did I get to.
So the panel bond has dried and now I have to dig out any bonding that is on the top side back to clean metal and now apply metal filler. This is why I tapered the hole to start with so the metal filler isnt just sat in the hole it also becomes part of the roof skin to...
Lightening is obviously the cheapest mod.
Any metal brackets that arent used anymore get them off.
Theres a huge chunk of steel underneath drivers side engine mount that can go. Rear wiper delete.
All airbags out, stereo, speakers, wiring.
I'm guessing your in road going production class so...
Haha very true!
It's the last time I help a friend out Haha
I have a major complex now with checking the bonnet catches. Even if I'm not driving it anywhere
Its definitely a big help
Its definitely better on my wallet!!
And the boss is pretty easy, we just put some cash into the works night out kitty to cover materials.
I'm pretty picky and like thinks done properly so I only really trust myself which is big headed I know but I know it's done right.
