You need to think about their road tyres aswell. They will over heat aswell as their brake pads as they arent made for flat out lap after lap trackdays.
I'm assuming you have been on quite a few trackdays and know how your car drives and that you have some form of track brake pads to take the...
So on the cup master cylinder the 2 smaller ports which are closest to the bulkhead go to your left and right front brakes, the larger ports to the front are the rears but you need to blank one of the larger front ports off
Also check you servo as you master cylinder needs to seal properly onto it
Next I took it to work and cleaned every inch from top to bottom, inside and out including all the underside and wheel arches.
Cleaned up pretty well but as you can see the breather on the rocker cover is just venting free with no pipes or catch tank attached so I bought the PMS one.
So I got the car home and had a good look around it to see what I had actually just bought.
I could then see there was a few bits missing
Belts looked tired
And it had a golf cart battery
So I managed to get hold of some of the build pre my ownership.
The car was owned by a local lad who destroyed the bearings in the dephaser and killed the origional engine. So he bought the car as the lad couldnt afford to fix it and turned it into a track car
I removed the huge heavy seat bases somebody had made and made my own light weight one out of inch and a half angle.
Mines the one In the centre.
The car was looking well and drove great
So we booked Croft again
Had a great day but... I wanted more power...
So fitted the RS2 and had it...
So... I have been on C.S.net for a few years now and never really posted much other than asking advice or sharing what I know or have learnt from here or whilst working on the cars.
I had owned a clio previous to owning a mk2, a white 1.8 valve which I loved. I paid £300 for it. The rear arches...
If you are removing the abs unit, split the ecu part from it with the 6 small bolts as you need this part to keep your speedo working. You need to keep both from abs sensors aswell.
I was under the impression you only needed 1 but having driven down the road and the speed only registering half...
Just change to epas its so much easier.
Clears loads of shite out if the engine bay and you dont have to worry about oil pissing everywhere potentially setting on fire if it gets as far as the exhaust or your pump seizing up with the lack of oil in it which in turn throws your alternator belt...
I tried my epas turned right down at Croft and it was like driving a GoKart. You've always got pressure against your forearms and your grip starts to ache after 15/20 minutes. I have mine set some where between 1/4 and 1/3 assistance.
I watched your latest race video in the wet and your...
I was at Croft when that car was there. 26.8.19 on a circuit days track day.
it wasnt fast in a straight line so I would guess it's not blown or charged. Also wasnt fast in the corners either so I'm guessing the guy who he let drive it was one of his chav m8's. They all had the Newcastle to...
Anyone on here ever done the flat floor? Thing is your trading power to weight ratios with cornering down force. If you had a 300-350bhp per ton clio then I can understand the extra down force required as you have the power to use it at higher speeds.
If the corrosion goes behind the screen you need the screen out because it will most definitely be behind the screen aswell. Most corrosion in that area is from a screen previously being fitted and damaging the paint leaving it to start rusting rather than using the window primer to cover any...
I work for an approved BMW dealership in the bodyshop, I'm senior ATA panel technician and just moved up to workshop controller. No jobs leave our shop unless they are 100%.
That includes the body repair, paint and the overall finish of the work carried out. We are governed by BSI and their...
Use a BSI approved bodyshop. Top of their game and because they are kitemarked like a builder or joiner they have to do things properly and the repairs and paint perfect.
I have the 1/2 inch digital torque wrench, had it years never faulted yet, perfect for torque/angles on bolts, set it up prior to tightening and it does the job for you... practically
