If you own a modern Clio, it's likely you are a crap driver. Discussion.

That's fine, but when those people finally cause an accident due to their reluctance to learn they only have themselves and their ignorance to blame. It's like saying: My mummy cooks my dinner for all but two days a year, so why should I bother learning? Because when you invite that woman...

If you own a modern Clio, it's likely you are a crap driver. Discussion.

This is similar to me. Good on you :) I would agree, understanding both types of cars is ideal, but most people nowadays wont get the chance unfortunately, especially as it has not really snowed that much in ages and because old cars are mostly held together with rust. Generally though, people...

Awesome. I'd agree with the last comment too.

Certainly not. On the private area I used to use back in the 90's, one could safely provoke a car and see what would happen. On the public highway, that would be foolish and unwise, but it's good to have the experience from the test area should it ever happen, wouldn't you agree?

In what way did it help if you don't mind sharing? Was it a driver provoked accident or just one of those things? Are you an experienced driver?

I'd agree the Clio is not a bad car to learn control on snow. I used to practice in a couple of R5 turbo's, but when they came on boost it was not easy to say the least. I got used to it though but in real world situations and not in practice you had to be very careful. 4WD was good fun and a...

Sorry, merely responding to others comments. I just wanted to stir the grey cells a bit with a decent discussion. Glad you agree though :) It would be good to hear from people who have had accidents with more modern cars and try to see if the driver aids aided or hampered their accident.

Of course, merely making a valid point in response to a previous comment your Honour ;)

Always good advice! It's good to see so many of you guys with some common sense and valid points, and of course, nice cars.

Sorry, I am not familiar with the 'in-crowd' on CS, so have no reservations about saying what I think to who I like. He made a s**t reply, he got one in return. Touché. As for blue lights, how many deaths are caused by police or emergency services drivers every year? Go look it up if you don't...

A real man or woman drives they way you'll probably not understand yet, if ever. You're on L plates right? This is a discussion, not a personal crusade where you can s**t talk your crap life onto others. Keep to the topic. Oh, and I am a real man btw, I just checked...

If you own a modern Clio, it's likely you are a crap driver. Discussion.

The accidents you are seeing on the news are not caused by people deliberately provoking cars, but the unpredictability of the snow, so yes you should care about learning how to drive in adverse conditions unless you're a moron. 30 posts. I made posts before now? God, must have been important...

If you own a modern Clio, it's likely you are a crap driver. Discussion.

It makes their understanding of car dynamics limited, thus a flawed driver. You don't need to be a wannabe McRae (RIP) but one should make the effort to learn, both for fun and safety. I say, modern cars limit the experience of a driver.

If you own a modern Clio, it's likely you are a crap driver. Discussion.

Now I realise that some of you may not understand what the subject line may be asking, so I’ll say it straight: Are more modern cars like your 197’s and newer Clio models with safety crap actually hampering your ability to learn how to drive in conditions like snow? I would say yes, probably...

CAR Magazine Best Hot Hatch of all time poll

This poll was flawed. Any interweb geek could sit there and run a macro all night and day on multiple PC's to rig the results....I mean seriously...Saab 99? f**k off, They are shite. Most people that voted have never driven the car they voted for and are just voting from 'armchair reading'...

crashed the car last night :(

I've smacked my old scooby on kerbs in the snow before about 14 years ago, its no big deal, and to be honest powersliding about going apeshit sideways at 40 odd was well worth a minor scrub out of the alloys :D Awesome fun.

    modding a williams=can o worms?

I do sometimes, but I am usually hiding :) As for exhausts, mines a Magnex. It can be a bit loud but itsnt too bad. That and the decat tend to rob a bit of low down torque but make up for it in the mid to higher rev range. It pops, and bangs.

    modding a williams=can o worms?

I've had some serious cars in my time, and although I drive like a pussy, when I get in the Williams it's an event. Sure, working on it can be a pain, but at least you can work on them unlike some modern cars nowadays. Keep on top of the wear and tear and it will gift you with some amazing fun...

So what happened? I think it sounds like they didn't time it up right and also didn't crank it over by hand to begin with and bent your valves for you by starting engine off starter motor.
