^ great pics there :)
My Clio is by no means a minter anymore, but it's no dog either!
The spec of the Williams at mo is:
F7R700 B/E: Forged pistons/rods/ARP bolts plus balanced anf lightened etc.
F7R714 cylinder head: Hillpower polished and ported, with 213 CatCams and verniers
Supersprint...
Until recently , a daily driver.
A nice 182 raced after me today to say hello in Locks Heath. I pootle in urban areas at a max of 30, and always if oil isn't up to temps. If you read this buddy, shame you turned off before motorway...would have show you how an old Mk1 Clio wtfpwns my V8 5.0L M5...
Valvers too, they can be specced to Williams level or higher anyway...
I've been cruising in my Williams for some time till recently, M5 has taken it's place as daily runner...but it is still with me, and always will be. When you drive this car after the M5, which is an AWESOME car too...it's a...
I am at the end of my AD08's on the ITB Williams. I had R1R's before that. A little track work on both tyres.
Performance in the dry goes to the R1R. Better feedback due to stiffer sidewalls (in my case) but more road noise and harsher ride. Sometimes made me pooh my pants in heavy wet weather...
Thanks.
That was me :) I would have waved but was not sure you saw me till you went off round. I have seen your yellow Mk2 before, but I think I was in a different car that time.
I think they are set to Catcams recommended setting for the 213's. It could be messed about with but tbh it's seriously awesome and nice and driveable as is.
I am now looking at thicker torsion bars for the rear as the front is now pretty darn stiff, rear needs a bit more attention too now...
This happened to me once, except it was a young lady. She gave me a huge mouthful of abusive when I pointed out the dent and got back in her car and drove off screaming.
What could I do? Kick crap out of her? Police didn't care and car park owners didn't want to know.
Hi. I also went to SRR on Saturday. What a beautiful hot day! Total contrast to last years 3 degrees Ice Age event.
I decided to put my poor little battered Williams on the dyno again:
It was 222.5 at the Emerald dyno last time, but 214+ is a damn good figure anyway for a 930kg-odd daily...
I've had some 500lb springs made for my Williams by Faulkner Springs for my KW v2 coilovers. I find, although they are comfy, the springs are a bit lame. I know others think they are a bit too soft too.
Will update with my findings in a while when I fit them tomorrow :)
Refill & bleed powersteering fluid?
Check tyre pressures are equal, front and rear.
Test the dampers, one may have leaked a little.
When you had the steering rack done, did you use new inner and outer track rods on both sides?
Check the mounting points for the ARB and all the bushes. Ensure...
With too much you'll wheelspin more, and unless your car rolls like a barge, you wont get the full benefit of say, 3.0 degrees, as in the bends the tyre contact patch will still not be optimal. 1.5 - 2.0 Is fine. I try various amounts and see what it does, but if you don't have the know-how/kit...
http://www.nitron.co.uk/products_springs.htm
There's the Nitron link to a page with handy spreadsheets. Give very useful info on types of 60mm ID springs they supply.
Faulkners do specially made springs in various colours and can for and extra fee, mark the springs with text of your choice.
I...
I have not seen anywhere that does those springs on the KW website?
I have sourced two places that will do the same type of spring. Nitron have a list on a spreadsheet for 60mmID / 170mmFL springs at loads of different rates, but for two springs for the front it works out about £138+postage inc...
Too much roll for me. Nice quality though and quite comfortable, but unless I go 'in slow, out fast', they don't cope as well as some more basic setups I've had.
Lol dan...
Toast, I used the following site for a quote on much beefier springs: http://www.nitron.co.uk/products_springs.htm
The Willy ones use 170mm length, 60Nm and 60 ID springs on the font as standard on the KW v2 kit.
They equate to about 340 lb/inch springs which is about the...
