    I think the issue is that it's about 50% longer than a normal battery. He'd have to reposition it in the boot to fit it in.

    I found the 197 to be more planted and more confidence inspiring even though the 172 gives more feedback. Straight line speed there is basically no difference.

    Looking at this filter makes me think that filter size has very little effect or RamAir must make some seriously restrictive filters: http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=350836799485&alt=web It seems to be a tiny filter for the size of the pipe work.

    My offside drive shaft was knackered. I had 330 miles to drive to get home. I tried to get an OE one but time was not on my side. I fitted one made by 'European Bearing Technologies'. Anyway, the car drives okay except for a resonance at high revs and in second gear it knocks quite loudly...

    The driver's side is dry. Most of the rollers were sat in a big pool of grease on the plastic engine tray at the bottom.

    It turns out it was the offside drive shaft. The boot had split and by the time I changed it there were no ball bearings and splines left on one of the three bits that goes inside the gearbox.

    I'll check the brake fluid, thanks. The pads and discs have done less than 10k so are still fresh. I do get lights when I move my passenger seat but I'm sure they are for Airbag and SERV light?

    Cba drilling anymore. Thank god the abs cable had a break point half way because the head on the screw on the sensor rounded. I'll drop it off somewhere tomorrow and hopefully refit everything tomorrow.
