    F*ck. How should I proceed?

Cheers Steve. I'm going to have another go tonight. If I can't do it, I'm going to take the hub off and take it to a garage or metal workers.

    F*ck. How should I proceed?

Yeah, the other two came out fine because there was no pressure on them. Drill chuck goes up to 13mm. I've got 10 and 12mm cobalt bits. I've made some progress but I seem to have stalled. You can see on the one with the blue edge how hot it has got but it won't seem to go any further. That...

    F*ck. How should I proceed?

What size drill bit should I use for drilling the rest of the two bolts out? 10mm? I'll get a 13mm for doing the heads/shoulders.

    F*ck. How should I proceed?

Thanks again Steve. Good idea on grinding the trapped bolt flat. I'm going to buy a cobalt drill bit tonight. I'll let you know how I get on (aka come back on here after something else has broken and thus requiring more advice...).

    F*ck. How should I proceed?

The bolts with the red dots are the bolts that hold the spacer to the hub. The bolt with the blue dot is the wheel bolt that has snapped. The wheel bolt is poking out of the other side of the spacer by about 1mm and poking out of the front by about .5mm. I'm not sure of the make. I bought them...

    F*ck. How should I proceed?

Cheers for the offer Mark! Thank you Steve, I'll try and get one of those. Not quite right with your analysis. As the the spacers are bolt on, I tried to use the original wheel bolts to bolt the wheel to the spacer. The issue is that the wheel bolts were too long so they hit the hub on the...

I'm in Plymouth, near the centre. Are you willing to travel? :p

    F*ck. How should I proceed?

I've got some. They aren't heavy duty enough and the threads were just rounding. Cheers anyway.

    F*ck. How should I proceed?

I'm going to buy a cobalt drill bit tomorrow. I think Machine Mart do a 10.5mm one.

    F*ck. How should I proceed?

If I could put the car back on the ground I wouldn't have a problem :) The brake pedal method worked.

    F*ck. How should I proceed?

D'uh! Thanks, worked a treat :) Tried to remove the track rod end, loosened the top bolt then tried to lock the bolt with an Allen key except the top was fucked so couldn't I get any purchase. Tried to hacksaw it and my Irwin hacksaw blade has blunted. I'm getting ready to set the c*nting...

    F*ck. How should I proceed?

What's the process for removing the front hub nut? Mine will not budge. The wheel on the other side is spinning on the floor!

    F*ck. How should I proceed?

I guess I will have to try and find a mobile welder tomorrow... I had heard of needing longer wheelbolts for spacers but never shorter!

    F*ck. How should I proceed?

I tried to fit some 15(16?)mm front spacers yesterday. Bolt on hub centric. I attached the spacer to the hub okay but my standard wheel nuts were too long. I only discovered this when I snapped a wheel bolt by over tightening it. Due to the pressure applied against the hub by the over tightened...

Is the wheel centre spigot on the rear discs load bearing?

Cheers! Guess I'll send them back then!

Is the wheel centre spigot on the rear discs load bearing?

I had a new bearing pressed into one of my rear discs. They discs are only about 8k miles old otherwise I would have replaced them. After I'd had the old bearing pressed out and the new one in I noticed that the dust cover wouldn't stay on properly when I was reinstalling them. I looked closely...

    Wheel spacers on a ph1 ?

    Nice one, cheers.

    Wheel spacers on a ph1 ?

Does anyone know what the four bolts are called that hold the rear hubs on? I went to install my spacers yesterday but the smaller star headed bolt was rounding off so I gave up.

    Wheel spacers on a ph1 ?

What size hub spacer can you get away with on the rear without needing bigger bolts? I've got some 10mm without camber to go on.

Windscreen wiper arm mechanism cover is scratching paint off the wiper arm (pic)

Has anyone else experienced this? Since I had the car there was always a tiny silver scratch there but now it's getting worse. The cover is clipped on correctly so I don't understand why it would start happening now.

    My immaculate Ph1 172

Update Ever since I had the car I always thought the handling was good but not amazing. I had a look through the extensive history file and saw that in the past is had had a replacement rear shock and a replacement front spring. I decided on new ph1 shocks all round and some Cooksport springs. I...

Renault specialist in Manchester for cambelt change?

SC Autoelectrics in Bolton. He's done loads of cambelts, as well as 16 Clio/Megane engine conversions. I bet he will be cheaper than Birchdown as well.

    Clio 197/200, Megane R250 Conversion

The 250 engine can take much more power than the 225 lump. I think the 250 engine can take 360bhp on standard internals. SC Autoelectrics in Bolton is who did Litchy's. I'm not sure if the VVT is working yet. There is an Alien Green 200, also done by SteC at SC Autos, with a 250 lump as...
