Yeah, the other two came out fine because there was no pressure on them.
Drill chuck goes up to 13mm. I've got 10 and 12mm cobalt bits. I've made some progress but I seem to have stalled. You can see on the one with the blue edge how hot it has got but it won't seem to go any further. That...
Thanks again Steve.
Good idea on grinding the trapped bolt flat.
I'm going to buy a cobalt drill bit tonight. I'll let you know how I get on (aka come back on here after something else has broken and thus requiring more advice...).
The bolts with the red dots are the bolts that hold the spacer to the hub. The bolt with the blue dot is the wheel bolt that has snapped. The wheel bolt is poking out of the other side of the spacer by about 1mm and poking out of the front by about .5mm.
I'm not sure of the make. I bought them...
Cheers for the offer Mark!
Thank you Steve, I'll try and get one of those. Not quite right with your analysis. As the the spacers are bolt on, I tried to use the original wheel bolts to bolt the wheel to the spacer. The issue is that the wheel bolts were too long so they hit the hub on the...
D'uh! Thanks, worked a treat :)
Tried to remove the track rod end, loosened the top bolt then tried to lock the bolt with an Allen key except the top was fucked so couldn't I get any purchase. Tried to hacksaw it and my Irwin hacksaw blade has blunted.
I'm getting ready to set the c*nting...
I tried to fit some 15(16?)mm front spacers yesterday. Bolt on hub centric. I attached the spacer to the hub okay but my standard wheel nuts were too long. I only discovered this when I snapped a wheel bolt by over tightening it. Due to the pressure applied against the hub by the over tightened...
I had a new bearing pressed into one of my rear discs. They discs are only about 8k miles old otherwise I would have replaced them. After I'd had the old bearing pressed out and the new one in I noticed that the dust cover wouldn't stay on properly when I was reinstalling them. I looked closely...
Does anyone know what the four bolts are called that hold the rear hubs on? I went to install my spacers yesterday but the smaller star headed bolt was rounding off so I gave up.
Has anyone else experienced this? Since I had the car there was always a tiny silver scratch there but now it's getting worse. The cover is clipped on correctly so I don't understand why it would start happening now.
Update
Ever since I had the car I always thought the handling was good but not amazing. I had a look through the extensive history file and saw that in the past is had had a replacement rear shock and a replacement front spring. I decided on new ph1 shocks all round and some Cooksport springs. I...
SC Autoelectrics in Bolton. He's done loads of cambelts, as well as 16 Clio/Megane engine conversions. I bet he will be cheaper than Birchdown as well.
The 250 engine can take much more power than the 225 lump. I think the 250 engine can take 360bhp on standard internals.
SC Autoelectrics in Bolton is who did Litchy's. I'm not sure if the VVT is working yet.
There is an Alien Green 200, also done by SteC at SC Autos, with a 250 lump as...
