Well, I'm 56, and have decided my phase 1 172 just doesn't cut the mustard any more. Just not fast enough. That's why I'm putting a Subaru Impreza drivetrain in it. 260BHP for starters, but will be 350 when I can afford the goodies! Look for Rooby Clio 172 in the projects thread ;)

Well, after all the excitement of the Autosport Show, it's back to the grind. Literally! Got out the old 9" and 4" grinders today, and started to hack the Clio shell to bits.

Actually Tony didn't mind a bit, as long as Jason Plato autographed his car for him!

Had a superb, but tiring, show. Cars performed well, despite one shedding a CV joint in practice! Mr. Plato managed to gently scrape one into the wall, but with only a bit of grp and paint damage, so not a problem. He even managed to do it whilst the car's owner was looking on!

If all goes well Werrington is pencilled in as the first event. No pictures at the moment, but the only thing I have done since my last report is to take an angle grinder and air hacksaw to the passenger door. Removed all the un-neccessary bits, and lots of surplus metal, including the door...
