More small jobs done, looking for someone down here to make a good job of the intercooler pipes at the moment.
Time for a swift few days holiday, then will fit in some more work on it when I can.
ECU can take 2 maps, so will be running V Power for track days and general hooning, and Carless Turbo fuel for competing. Turbo fuel works out at £4 per mile
No more pics atm, just need to say what a thirsty little bugger the Cliopreza is. Costing me a small fortune in fluids now. 5 litres of Millers 10w60 racing oil, 4 litres of 75w140 gearbox oil, plus 1 litre of LSD oil. Now it's taken 13 litres of Evans Waterless Coolant to fill the little bugger...
Intercooler pipe time today. Mocked up the layout from some redundant Scooby front mount pipes. New bits to be welded in, then the whole lot striiped, cleaned up and polished.
There are various classes within Groups, so almost any car can be used, from standard road going saloons to single seater racing cars. There are usually two practice runs, followed by two or three timed runs, with your fastest timed run to count for awards. One of the main attractions is that...
Today's efforts.....
Drivetrain in.
Adjustable rear radius arms
Wish I could have a transparent bellhousing so I could see the clutch all the time :D
Engine in......
And an ass end shot to finish up with ;)
Running approx 280BHP to start with , so thats 350BHP/Tonne.
If all goes well will build a 2.1 litre stroker for 2015, should get 500BHP from that one, so thats 625BHP/Tonne. If I can handle it!
Allegedly!
Looking at travelling a little further afield in 2014, hoping to get to Shelsley Walsh, Prescott and Loton Park at least once, also Epynt Hillclimb, Gurston Down, Wiscombe, possibly an excursion to France for St. Goueno, so a packed programme till we run out of funds!
Pushing on over Christmas. Looking to get the engine and box in, brakes bled, then make a start on the only two things left to engineer, the wiring loom and the intercooler pipes.
So, at last, everyone elses car is done in time for Christmas. Now to really get down and dirty!
1. Put car on ramp and lift off it's dolly.
2. Start assembly. Mission for today, get it rolling.
Mission accomplished!
Very small update, as work seems to have got int the way of play for some considerable time! Rear suspension radius arms have finally arrived on a slow boat from Australia, which means at last I have everything I need to make the car a roller.
This afternoon I did a bit of welding, converted...
Had a professional photographer at last weekend's scooby club meet, photos courtesy of Jonathan Wigmore.
That will have to keep you going, because I am away for a couple of weeks now. Hopefully the rear suspension bottom arms will be here when I get back, and we can turn it into a...
Masked off, primed and fitted the polycarbonate rear window to the tailgate today. Impressive work by Plastics4Performance. Looks absolutely O.E. except no heating elements. Side windows look great too. More photos when they are fitted.
