So the passenger side light was really making the front end look a bit shabby so I bought the 3M kit and it's worked a lot better than I thought. It actually looks brand new
I also took the front bumper off to see if I could find the problem with my washer jets but even though the pump still...
Lots of plans to be honest but I want to get it to a really good standard condition before I start playing with it, there's not much more that need doing now but it will be unique in no time haha, many plans for yours?
If you can ignore the haters, the MX5 is a great car and corners like a beast, so flat and you can just keep it planted, however the reality is that you dont put the roof down in the sun as you get sunburn really bad as your bassically sitting in the sun for hours on end, but roof down night...
Hi, So I've recently bought myself a 2005 Black/Gold 182 in pretty good condition, has both the cup pack extras (Cup Spoiler and Splitter) and the graphite wheels so assuming has the suspension pack? I have the half and half seats so isn't a CUP. Having previously owned an MX5 I wanted to come...
Bit weird mate, I used to have a 1.2 Ph1 and remember seeing this on here a few years back when I had mine. Had an accident in my MX5 and bought myself a BG 182FF last week as well haha. Strange how people always come back to clios haha
So back in 2014 I sold my PH1 1.2 Clio and bought an Racing Green MX5 which I've loved but always wanted a Cliosport and due to a recent accident in my MX5 decided now was the time to buy one.
So here's my 2005 182, there's a few niggly bits that need sorting as I'm sure you'll notice but it'll...
So its been a year since i sold my clio and ive loved my mx5 ever since but always have a thought in my mind about getting a clio sport one day.
Heres my mx5:
Standard mods really
Thanks, It's the 1.6 engine, very revvy can push it to 6.5k the noise it make is addictive :) pic to follow its very clean
Thanks, pics as requested haha
Engine is in very good visual condition, well maintained by the looks of things
I got this Miata badge imported over from california - Nice...
I know right, who would have thought Clio wheels would look good on an mx5
Had to keep a bit a bit of it with me haha, the wheels had to stay ;) I'm sure my next car will be a cliosport, I miss my little 1.2 codger haha
It's gone so fast since I sold my 1.2 Clio which I loved with all my heart (first car problems), As i'd played Gran Turismo since an early age and with a spot of influence from an unkle i've always had a love for MX-5's. So I took the plunge and bought a 00' British Racing Green MK2 MX-5 back in...
yer a few mates with turbo cars had the digital prosport boost and water temp gauges, i just like the look of them and the fit so well. the wires tuck straight down behind the clock, no drilling /sanding, i just took the vent ball out and the gauge slid straight in nicely (52mm). im alright with...
Its the peice of plastic that the material bit of the roof sits in at the back behind the carpet inside where the roof goes also known as a rain rail, before i owned it, its had a new roof quite recently and the person who fitted it failed to put this piece back meaning that any rain that ran...
Yer I'm aware, I thought it would give me a better indication of when it was at its peak, and warmed up. it's not that I thrash it or anything, I'm just just more cautious with my acceleration when it's cold.
So its been a month or so now and I've done a few bits and bobs. Some critical and some mods.
- Miata badge, shipped over from a guy in California.
- Prosport water temp gauge.
- Roof gutter because I came back of holiday to find an actual puddle on the floor mat.
I decided to put stripes on it...
Lovely car that, I was after a mk1, went to have a look at a couple and couldnt find one that wasnt ready for the scrap yard for my budget, managed to get mine a good price and in good condition, yours is like new haha
Thanks a lot, pretty much sums up everything I had questions about :smile...
So a quick update, I've now had the MX-5 for 2 months its gone so fast. At first I had my reservations and really missed my small, economical and cheap to run clio. I still do miss it but when your going down a country lane with the roof down soaking up the corners I couldn't love the 5 more...
There's a few nik naks like that, that I took off before it went to sell, same number plate its definitely mine. Colour coded side strips/ door handles, sprayed front badge, still lowered, de-chromed front indicators CS TAX holder. Its the one alright
So I sold my clio only a month ago and although I really do love my mx5, I still do miss my Clio quite a bit :), so to my delight I saw it as I sold it to someone not far away. That was until I saw the front end.
So here it was in August ready for Cliosport Saturday. I put so much time money...
What I did was go to timpson on the high street, costs from 30-40 that will have a chip in which will be matched to your existing key, it won't have a remote button so youll have to use the door key hole but no need for any garages to sort it because it doesn't have a remote
That's lovely that. Yer I've been on the forums already had some good advice, I've also had all the hairdresser comments, if only they drove one. Great little cars
I kept these Speedline Vega wheels when I sold my clio and thought to myself today that they might look good, so I got some proper wheels nuts and wacked them on. I loved them on my clio and think they look pretty good on this.
Had it a couple of weeks now and love it, very revvy and hec lot faster than the clio (Sold and gone now :( miss that car a lot already )
Home from home decided to put a Fabia splitter on, i reckon it really suits it, eyelids, new droplink, full detail in/ out and roof protection. Chassis rails...
So my little clio thread sadly comes to an end, if anyone wants to buy him in a standard state its for sale in the cars for sale section.
it looks like this now...
i've moved on to something a little more powerful and got this....
Luckily the front springs look new and the backs aren't that old, the shocks might need doing soon but thinking about a tighter ride rather than a hard ride tbh.
Thanks for the advice, really appreciate that, spent the day trying to sort my passenger droplink to no avail, just couldn't get the bolts of even with a rattle gun looks like I'm going to have to saw the old one off
