I checked to see if i had a full gearbox as i have selector leak... I forgot i filled it when on a hill so it took 3.5L... I now have the best part of 400ML on my drive -.-
Easy to do.
1. Remove under tray
2. USE a sump plug tool to remove the plug on bottom of gearbox... over a bucket.
3. Let it drain
4. Undo the wing bolt on front of gearbox.. you may need to remove air filter to access it.
5. Put plug back In bottom of gearbox with a new washer.
6. Using a 10...
Hey
I fitted a new set of injectors (been used for 50 miles by previous owner, he sold lots of sets on facebook).
Was fine for 2 days, But after 2 days upon starting the engine from a cold start (leaving it for a few hours at least) the engine will bog down and sound like its going to stall...
Take your noise and add a chirp that gets faster as you rev and you have the sound of my car.
I would say its Normal, May be the alternator just making a noise.
if its annoying you take the Aux belt off and run the car, see if it still does it. if so stick a new Alternator on i suppose.
Yea Mapped for road use, so would like more torque and smooth delivery.
Right on the money there, The end where the tool goes in on the inlet cam is damaged so the tool wiggles, in turn it cant time up right.
I bought those 428 cams on the For sale section, That's why i was going to fit...
Hey.
My 172 currently hits 162.9 on the rollers, the inlet cam is timed slightly advanced due to a damaged end so it can't be timed correctly.
So I decided I may aswell treat the car to a set of catcams.
It will have the following done before next run, this stuff is what's different than...
Oh they were.
Had one that was bent repaired to be unbent.
Tyres (2 of the 4) were run flat, but from advice of a tyre place down here he said they will be for a while if required.
Other than that after the refurb they are fine.
I paid £280 for mine with a decent set of tyres. (still using the tyres now)
Refurb was £150 For them all to be Powdered and Lacquered.
So not too bad in the end.
I also need to know the exact size. Best bet is to take the wing plug off and look at it.
I plan to add a tube connector that screws on and allows filling that way. Then that way I can have a permanent oil fill point up in engine bay. Ha
Carrying on from above, I think i know why, This week I have not been stuck in much traffic. Each trip to and fro work is normally an hour with stop start traffic. This weeks 4/5 days its been a 40min drive and only 5 mins of that is traffic.
Very interesting
Well... Car seems to be doing 36MPG now... Before when i checked L left and worked it out with miles done it would match up at 31-32Mpg. This time its actually working out at 36 which i have never seen before!
I went over one the other week. Ever since the car does not feel right.
Wheels are fine, So I'm replacing lots of bits to try and fix the problem. i have a picture of the pot hole so may send a large claim into the council
Has he checked the linkage?
Have a look under the car, where it links there is a Bolt.
if you look carefully you will see if its loose, and also if you undo it and slide it back you will see a line of dirt that was in the open slit of one side.
Redo it back up with the slit in the right place...
Hey
So recently I have noticed that when in 1st and already moving when I put my foot down to accelerate faster (as you do), the RPM will rise but the speed of which I'm going will not increase.
I had been presuming it was wheel spin, but on the way home today, it is dry as a bone on the...
I asked him what BHP its running.
He replied:
"Hi yeah, due to exhaust system and chipping, 200bhp
Cheers"
I then asked if its been cammed to get that figure and is there a Dyno print out and whats the history on belts.
I got not reply.
I like the wheels. I like that the diamonds yellow.
The Rear bumper insert needs to be black, but that's easy to fix.
The Inside... Well it needs all that yellow changing to sliver. the Clocks can stay yellow as I think on their own that's fine.
I would say with things changed its £3.5k to...
