Depends if you can get all the bubbles out of it if your fitting it to the inside. Can look sh"t if you don't! Fitting it to the outside is much easier.
Don't forget CS rules....your only allowed one if you no longer has sun visors lol!
I suppose if your going to keep your HUGE standard rad then cooling is probably not going to be an issue.
If you have a spare £40 in your budget to down size the rad then you shoukd do it as you do save quite a bit of weight doing so.
Dave I think the heated screen does get rid of the mist on the inside of the screen.
If you still want to get rid of the heater matrix and bits then look into small electric heaters for the screen.
Tony is right about the heater helping the engine cool down but if you had your fan on a toggle...
My hates are:
Carbon wrapping
Bonnet bras
Painted standard calipers
Lexus rear lights or the really dark ones
Euroing a Clio sport, Great handling car and then you go put stupidly wide wheels on and slamming it so it rubs alll the time.
Oh bu**er! I ended up completely rewired my car as the Renault looms were nackered! But I'm running an OMEX and you'd have to run a standalone ecu to ditch all your standard looms. I have a UCH for a 182 and my standard ecu if you need them.
Haha, Mark is like the kid in the sweet shop and your the dad saying he's not allowed anything!
I suppose you could still have it as a flat floor but with no lip. Would still aid the airflow.
It cost me nothing which is why I did it :)
Only just seen your thread. I'm sorry about not getting those pictures of the rear beam etc, I've got a memory like a fish lol.
Your workshop is epic!!!!! It's my fav part of this thread so far ;) lol
Good luck with the build I look forward to seeing the cage :)
Well it was actually misfiring because of a stupid HT Lead issue which is now sorted so it now doesnt sound like a subaru! but the car still has a little misfire, so perhaps when your free you could pop over like we discussed a little while ago and you could have a little lookie over the car...
It doesn't touch the sump but I still might put a little bit of heat shield on the floor it so it doesn't catch fire lol
Yes that exactly what I was thinking but I didn't want to rush into it and cut it off and it look rubbish! Might do it tomorrow :)
Mr Fish did make one out of metal...
UPDATE:
I've been meaning to make a new front splitter for quite a while now and today I thought i'd give it a bash.
I started with a huge piece of chip board of something and slid it under the car which is on axle stands
I then drew on the wood to mark out what I needed to cut off
So...
I suppose time will tell if the diff lasts/performes as long as ktec think it should.
Tbh when you get the car back, if your happy with how it feels then that's all that matters doesn't it!
It sort of seems like your modding your 172 to try impress people on here. I make changes to my car...
If your gona pay someone to do the conversion then TDF would deffently be the place to go to. It would be £1500 cheaper to buy the jenvey stuff that's for sale on here and just use bonnet pins.
I didnt get 4pot's in the end, not really needed on the car. I run the old slightly more aggressive CL RC5 pad in the fronts, Halfords specials in the rears lol
I'll let you know when i need a hand, Beers soon
Does this sound like its misfiring? It's got a bit of a high idel atm but thats just because of how i had set it at the time.
Like i said above i'll be trying to plug my laptop into the ecu but just wasnt sure if the car sounded right or not?
It starts up striaght away now i have set the throttle cable.
Sound very rough tho and it seems to be kicking out black smoke which doesnt sound/look good. I'm gona bleed the cooant and try plug the laptop into the ecu now i know the ECU actually works.
I'm actually probably the most northen part of Aylesbury in Watermead :). I think you came round once before a few years ago to drop some replacment AST topmount bits off.
Just PM me if you fancy a nosy :)
Just seen this thread. How long will that engine last? One seasons racing?
The flywheels looks rediculus! Cool as fook.
Good luck with the build i hope it all comes together.
Oh and who is building the engine/doing all the work?
UPDATE: - (the best one ever!!)
So i've been pretty busy recently doing bits and bobs on the car, I didnt really take many pictures of all the stuff but heres what i have done.
Fitted the rear tow strap :)
As the standard fuel line was allways really tight i decided to buy some new...
