I think i must be getting old as i cant be arsed with getting one of my cars through a dodge MOT or worrying about if failing on silly things. I think i took my clio off the road at the right time.
Cage, paint and top mounts look great! Cage is hugely expensive tho! But top quality is pricey. But why no harness bar? Over £3000 and you'll still need to attach your harnesses to the floor!!
As people have already said the prep is pretty important and although it's a huge ballache it has to be done throughly, took me days of sanding to prep my inside. I went for the same colour as the outside and there is a slight difference in colour but only a little.
Once everything is back...
Second hand itb's are fine but I'd stay away from second hand wiring looms because they are damaged so easily when they are touched from my experience. All depends if your handy with a spanner too but it's all pretty easy to fit
I have a switch with sends power to the ecu, is that basically what the first turn of the key does, just uses a relay to s
Connect the power? so can I just switch that off everything else on the car will still have power from the main power cable.
Nearly finished my wiring!!!!!!
I now have
Brake lights
Indicators
Rain/side lights
2 speed wiper motor
Radiator fan
Just have
Ecu & fuel pump
Started motor
Does anybody know the safest way to stop the engine. Can I just stop the power to the ecu to stall the car?
There are 6 spot welds, 3 at each end of the bracing. just drill them out, and then cut the bar inthe middle and wiggle the 2 bits out. really easy, but you need to take the doors off to get to the spot welds next to the hindges. But thats really easy too! :)
Not another brightly powder coated subframe, that was my idea (sort of)
Things seem to be coming along nicely, must be nice to have more than one person doing stuff to the car and not having to do 100% of every little & big job yourself.
I know how you feel about desperately wanting to drive...
I'm not running any door cards, or the standard door pulls. So I have cut as much off as poss. I'm going to put special trim round the sharp edge and I'l just be using that just to pull the door shut. I'm finishing the doors off tomorrow so i'll update my thread to show anybody that cares.
Also...
Tut that's a bit of a bummer that the bits havnt arrived, I just bought my pipes and bits from eBay. Once you get it running you'll feel tonnes happier
Hope someone can give me some advice on this.
