Mine have just been sprayed mate, if they where sexy multi piston calipers, I'd have powder coated.
I've just bought a PMS shifter and an ARB........hoping to fit them, brakes, wheels and change oil on Saturday.
Having thoughts about exhaust system too. May just get rid, and buy an 182...
Did the Clio 172 cup come with a spare wheel or an foam insert with a can of tyre foam?
If spare wheel was it a full size turini or space saver?
Cheers!
Cheers man, I've seen the wheels, they look mint, so excited. The same guy has done my brake calipers black too.
You gone coilies? I ummed and arred about going down that route....and might in the future. Depends if I want to track this a lot.
Think this pay day I might go mad at PMS and get a...
Torque tightening stuff today, and I change interior carpets for better nick ones! (No pictures though).
Bought some new wheel bolts all around, hate the locking ones, so ditched those
Bit of a mare, bought a 182 upper and Lower inlet....fitted them, and it idled like toss, circa 4K! Read a bit that the upper inlet doesn't fit around the breather nicely, so removed it temporarily.... I am going to get the upper inlet and throttle body sand blasted back to standard colour. Air...
Without genuine reason (I.E clocks broke at 20K, replaced with ones at 0K, thus mileage is 20k + whatever is present) I wouldn't touch that with a barge pole, sorry.
So I've got 5l of evolution900 sxr for an oil change...then found 1l of evolution sxr in my shed......
What's the difference? Believe they're both synthetic? Just a rebranding excersize?
Can see here the front bracket, and the fact it's almost catching on the airbox. Can't be right can it?
You can see that I probably have 1/2" of clearance between bush and bracket on rear of air box.
As far as I'm aware it sits on the battery tray mount ok
I fitted my standard airbox last night, however no matter what I do, the two bungs don't seem to line up on the mounts in the engine bay.
If I bolt the front one together, there's a huge, maybe 1" gap between the rear mount in bay and bung!
it definitely came off a 172 cup...........Am I...
Bought an airbox, and the screws are shagged......Renault won't sell the screws separately!
Does anyone know the size of the screws, so I can just buy some off eBay?
Who do you guys go to for setting up geometry?
In particular, setting front camber bolts up perfectly, and tracking the car? I'd be asking them to fit track rod ends and tie rods too
Just like Christmas Day!
Dropped calipers off at mates to assess how to paint/ refurb, removing tyres offf wheels shortly for refurb and semi slicks and just finishing my list of what other bits for the rebuild to buy from KTEC.
Hopefully meeting Simon who's breaking a cup at weekend to get...
Thanks, I'm just looking forward to getting it to a position where I'm happy with it. My dad's enjoying coming across and working on it too, so that's good. The more and more I'm digging into it, the more and more stuff I find out. I removed seats earlier, and they've just chopped the cables...
Did a bit more today, finished removing all suspension, brakes (bar one disc!), and rear beam. So far, no naughty nuts/bolts so it's been easy to work on!
Fitted a proper blank on the inlet manifold as the old pipe and bolt looked horrible. Changed spark plugs too (Genuine renault ones)...
When I jacked my car up, I can see I've got some kind of poweflex bush.
Now, are they road or race series?
On KTEC they don't seem to offer different kits across road or race sereies (Check the prices out and part no's!)
Race
Road
I want to get my Turinis refurbed to standard colour, and looking at previous threads, it looks difficult to match centre caps to the powder!
What have you guys done? Painted the centre cap? can you remove the badge off the cap, paint it and apply the badge?
So did a bit a work on it tonight, dechavving, and removing brakes/cracking the suspension bolts so I can remove when my bits come.
Bulbs look a lot better now!
After jacking car up, I've noticed wheel arch trims are missing along with under tray, so some more bits to add to shopping list...
Thanks Steve, my intention is to keep it as standard as possible, but making little improvements over Renaults original offering.
Making it stiffer, louder and twitchy doesn't bother me (I used to own an r26.r and an Elise, so used to impractical cars!)
