I personally think the C1J is the better of the 2 engines for power and tunability options but then as already said the 1.7 lump has got the efi so will start 1st time and everytime:rasp: unlike a carbed C1J.
I can vouch for the condition of the items as I had the Total Seal piston rings of Vala for my C1J engine and they didn't even look used still could see all markings.
With an R5 you have loads of pipes you can re-route these to make it look less messy like in my R5 bay before I removed the C1J lump in favour of the F4r
I take it you are talking about the C1J lump out of an R5, I would have thought it to be a fairly easy conversion as the 5 has no proper ecu and wiring is basic. The hardest part would prob be souring the parts I have done a similair thing myself but ditched the C1J in favour of the F4r so if...
Yeah it is a phase 1 but if you have phase 2 diagrams i suppose it is better than nothing i assume the only real diff between the 2 looms would be the TB
That is the best pics I can get they where taken side by side:o
The top pic with the big white connector I take it the main loom connection which then connects to another loom that goes into the car? Don' suppose anyone knows what each pin on this connection is??
Hi,
I am after yet more advice with regards to the 172, I have removed the A/c and the power steering so am left with just the Alt, Water pump and crank giving me alot shorter belt run. Now has anybody else done this and what belt have you used?
Cheers James
As per title I am in the progress of placing a 172 lump into my R5 GTT but need a little assistance to what is what on the loom
If I post some pics can someone please add arrows to what cable is what.
Many thanks James
Hello Paul, Welcome to the forum matey, a shame I could get the clio TT I just didn't have the heart to sell the 5 so next best thing was to do a conversion but wanted to keep Renault so 172 lump it is. Should hopefully get some update pics up soon:D
