The 'Where's my old Clio' Thread.

What's 2x2? I've seen you mention it a couple of times in your posts and don't have clue what you mean by 2x2?

Loose hose, where should it go?? (Clio Mk2 Ph 3)

They are sealed, but they usually have a vent hole on each end of the battery that pipe fits into. Both holes have a little plastic plug in that you have to remove then push the pipe in, you only use one hole. Once it's pushed into the hole the pipe just dangles down.

Dent man - did I get ripped off?

It is very expensive then if it was cash in the hand. I'm the same as you mate. I hate thinking I might have paid more than I could have done. I always read lots of Google reviews before I commit. The only consolation is that he's done a good job.

Dent man - did I get ripped off?

Sounds a bit expensive to me. Was it including VAT with a receipt or cash in the back sack? More importantly. Are happy with the job?

Both the Renault and Sport badges are in the wrong place. They should be alot lower and closer together.

    Radio Problem...

Tbh I don't know f**k all about radios, but I knew I'd heard before about the radio turning off after 20 mins. From what I can gather it's something to do with not having a permanent live to your radio. Hence why you can listen to the radio for 20 mins with the ignition off then it beeps and...

Making an offer - 172 Cup

Yeah , it's the same car. Looks like @jong didn't keep it long after 2 years of persistence , for some reason.

New to forum Mk2 Phase 1 Clio Sport 172

I had a fag burn in my 172s seat. I had a guy do a smart repair and it was totally invisible. He filled it in with some glue and some powder/ fibre product. Just Google smart repair in your area and read the reviews. Welcome to CS.

North West / West Yorkshire Renaultsport Specialists?

Another vote for Andy and Steve at Birchdown. You're best off giving them a ring as they're usually quite busy so you might have a couple of weeks wait. http://www.birchdown.com/

It’s that time of year again... car insurance

I'm going back a few years now. But I remember reading an article saying insurance companies changed their school of thought about cars parked in garages versus on the road. It said that thieves had more time to break into a garaged car as it was out of sight , whereas on the road they...

Mk3 Clio radio and clock not working.

Tbh I haven't got a clue what's wrong. Have you tried putting the original light back in and see if that makes any difference? It might just be a coincidence that your radio stopped working but it's worth a try.

It fits on the front of the servo. Looks like you're missing 2 plastic clips that hold the vac pipe.

    Clio 182 Heavy Clutch

    Clio 182 Heavy Clutch

The car you've pictured is Arctic Blue not Racing Blue. They are quite heavy clutches compared to some other cars . My 182 from new was quite heavy , I also had a new 172 . That was also quite heavy. Then again I guess it's down the person and what they've been used to driving before. I wouldn't...

It’s that time of year again... car insurance

I declared a stainless exhaust through Confused.com. I'm so sure many people on here actually use Flux anymore. Nothing used to touch them years ago, now they take the piss with their quotes.

It’s that time of year again... car insurance

After being with Adrian Flux for around 20 years they weren't competitive anymore. Went through Confused.com - Hastings Premier. Slightly better quotes than compare the market plus 20 quids worth of Shell V power if you have an account. Also 30 quid cashback through quidco if it pays out.

Looking for a part for my Clio, Renault 7701205813 wiper link assembly c2, can anyone help??

You mean the whole assembly including the motor? Mine dropped to bits so I ended up buying the whole assembly including motor off eBay. From what I believe any mk2 assembly fits. The part number for the whole assembly I bought was 82 00 58 328

Strange issues with a 1.1 08 clio, slow starting with a rough idle, but battery, alternator and spark plugs are all good.

It's might be worth giving them a bell. They're usually pretty busy so could take a week or two before they can book you in. I'm sure they'll be able to sort out your problem.

Strange issues with a 1.1 08 clio, slow starting with a rough idle, but battery, alternator and spark plugs are all good.

I'm in the Northwest too. I take mine to Andy and Steve at Birchdown Autos in Malpas , Cheshire. 160 mile round trip but well worth it. They won't bullshit you or fire the parts cannon , changing this that or the other. It's worth considering if you're struggling to get to the bottom of your...

    Help please newbie here!

+1. Find a decent garage or better still a Renault specialist. " Starting with the coilpack " , already warning signs that the garage hasn't got a clue.

Strange issues with a 1.1 08 clio, slow starting with a rough idle, but battery, alternator and spark plugs are all good.

Well your alternator and battery are definitely ok with those readings. You said you had increased fuel consumption. That " can be " a bad or faulty lambda sensor. Is there no garage near you that you trust, or a renault specialist? Whereabouts in the country are you?

Strange issues with a 1.1 08 clio, slow starting with a rough idle, but battery, alternator and spark plugs are all good.

I wouldn't throw parts at it if you're not sure what part needs replacing. You'll just waste money. That's the reason I suggested taking it to a garage . They should be able to check if any of the earths are loose. Or maybe your mate had some idea if you're not that mechanically minded? Like...
