@Archtronics thanks for the pdf. I knew the fan was somewhere near the pollen filter but wasn't exactly sure where (y) @riber3 I've just changed my fan. It's a piece of piss mate. I wasn't looking forward to do doing it cos I didn't know how easy it is. I'll put some pics up of the sequence I...

Guide Needed for Removing heater/blower motor from Clio MK2

Watching with interest. I've got the same problem. Sometimes it worked other times it didn't. Then there was a bit of a burning plastic smell so I haven't used the heater fan since. It's not the resister pack as that's a totally different problem. I couldn't really find out any info how to...

    Door bullet mod

There used be to a guy on here years ago that did lots of decals for renault sports. I can't remember his username but he sells on ebay under the name of n2grafix. It might be worth messaging him. They were top quality and quite cheap. https://www.ebay.co.uk/str/n2grafix?rt=nc

    Cheap ebay 182 exhaust

Can I ask what's wrong with your Yozza? Mines about 10 years old too . The flange from the centre pipe and the flange on back box are rusty as f**k. Why did they used mild steel flanges on a stainless exhaust is beyond me. o_O

    Misfire on my 172

I didn't think it would have been the battery with it only being 6 months old. They idle rough , that's normal I'm 1*2s Sounds like you're getting there. I'm getting my cambelt service done tomorrow at Birchdown, the full genuine kit with water pump, dephaser, cam seals and coolant is £265 on...

    Misfire on my 172

The hole might be messing up the fueling. I had a leaking exhaust on a Pug 306 years ago and it affected how it ran. Keep us posted as it'll be interesting to know if the leak was causing the misfire.

    Misfire on my 172

A bit of positive news then :) . No misfire ? It's probably best to give your battery a good charge of its drained.

    Misfire on my 172

If it was just an intermittent misfire the code should be cleared, but yours obviously isn't intermittent. Get a meter on your battery. With the engine off you should be looking at about 12.6v if it's in good condition. If it's 12.4v or below it might be on its way out. Can you not get some...

    Misfire on my 172

Yeah that was the code for a stored injector fault. Removing that code won't stop it from starting. Maybe somebody else has an idea?

    Misfire on my 172

Check that none of the injectors have come loose? I had this a couple of years ago, kept throwing up an injection fault. When you do that little diagnostic trick you have to keep pressing the button on the end of the stalk until you come to _ _ _ _ or maybe t _ _ _

    Misfire on my 172

NGK are recommended. That's all I've ever used. Lots of people say that Bosch can cause problems, but that's probably through word if mouth than experience. I had a 172 years ago and would cough and splutter around 2000 revs then after that was fine. Plugs changed and the problem was gone. The...

182 rear caliper rebuild - whats so hard?

Like @Louis said. It's behind the handbrake arm. It operates a small cam that presses down on the washers , that's what makes the caliper release the brake pads when you release the handbrake. They are inside the body of the caliper. I'd leave them well alone mate or you wont ever get it back...

182 rear caliper rebuild - whats so hard?

It's nigh on impossible to get all the concave washers back in. I guess they must have some sort of small press and jig when they're first assembled. @OpulentPete . I doubt the rebuild kit will contain these washers. You'll probably just have the sliders and dust seals , piston and dust boots?

Hot rear wheel after disc and pad change?

I don't think so. Last September when I had the caliper replaced is the first time a garage has touched the rear brakes. Unless they did it ? I know these 2 guys well but it's like alot of these back street garages, you can never really trust them100%. I'll have another look at it when the...

Hot rear wheel after disc and pad change?

Very strange. I've had the car since new and not knowingly have the bolts been changed. I did have a new caliper fitted last September after it had been off the road. There's definitely a difference of 4mm between the bolts. It's better than it was but I'm still not 100% happy with it. I've...

Hot rear wheel after disc and pad change?

Right , quick update. It's done my fuckin head in lol. The 2 x 18mm bolts that go through the sliders are different lengths. One is 89mm one is 85mm . So roughly 4mm was protruding through the bottom hole in the hub. I never knew there were 2 different lengths of bolts, and that it made a...

Hot rear wheel after disc and pad change?

@Yorkshire Pudding @frayz Bearing spacer is there , flat face outwards. When the 2 x 18mm bolts aren't tightened up fully the caliper moves back and forth on the sliders. When i tighten them up fully the caliper becomes solid and doesn't move at all. The bolts are original bolts and have about...

Hot rear wheel after disc and pad change?

The piston moves when using the handbrake mechanism and brake pedal , I've had the dust boot off and greased inside, also greased the sliders. If I leave the 18mm bolts that go through the sliders loose then everything moves as it should. I just tightened the 18mm bolts tight as I could, I...

Hot rear wheel after disc and pad change?

Bit of a head scratcher this. Quick run down on what's been replaced. Last September my 182 had a new offside caliper fitted as it failed on brake efficiency. It's been ok since except it needed new discs and pads as they were getting a bit worn so I fitted these last week, genuine renault...
