A stage 42 Astra VXR is quicker in a straight line than a standard 182.
But if you remap your 182 the Astra will implode before the lights change........
Huge difference in handling with some knowhow guys. This X pack has an LSD which helps on its own but with poly bushes and a rear axle locating kit, effectively a tie bar, and of course the Bilsteins fitted as part of the X pack the handling is actually very good now....... not scary at all...
Hey Colin this is your Dad here, thank God you didn't take a happy snap of my Y's on the clothes line yesterday or that might have ended up on here too!! BTW I meant to say Kelly Brock before...most pleasing to the eye!
Alan
Hi Joe
Colin's dad here! I think £12K to £15K would be a steal, I would not let this go for less than £19K and even then you would have to tie me up and have Kelly Brook ravage me many times and ............. even then I would say no (to sell that is) !!!!
Alan
This is Dads toy, its a 1981 X plate, 3.0S capri, with original dealer fitted X pack RS parts, including;
Big valve heads, Triple 42DCNF carbs, electric fuel pump, anti dive kit, Granada front brakes, Limited slip diff, All round Bilstein shockers.
Wheels were 7.5x13 deep dish RS 4 spokes, but...
Ditch the wheels as they look crap, other than that it's a very good looking car!
I remember the topic about Rob fitting the dash etc, Some 16" F1's would make that car perfection
So if you could save the money and keep standard height would you do it? I'm almost all saved now!!
Damping adjustment should be a small knob that goes on each strut top and turns.. Is this what you meant? Unless KW have a different set up?
Yours is the hight I want though! Handling wise for how often I drive the clio I wouldn't spend £1500 to improve, it doesn't justify for under 1000 miles per year.
Should be a 5 minute job to soften it up a bit though, just buy turning them a few clicks??
Dont put me off this idea guys lol
I like the wheels!
Car still looks gash though! This one is the turd that can't be polished.
Followed a basic 06 plate albi blue 197 the other day, standard and it looked amazing! It's a 7 year old car FFS!
Nope, still just can't get on with these at all :(
same with the 208gti, saw one yesterday and they are dreadful.
Fiesta ST every single time in this class!
