It's on the nearside of the box towards the bottom, it's fairly easy to spot, I think you'll have to remove the arch though, not sure as I don't have any.
I would've thought it'd be an earth issue though personally as if it was the switch they'd either work or they wouldn't.
If it's at the back it's definitely possible it could be from the breather plate. The breather plate bolts onto the rocker cover and goes into the underside of the inlet plenum.
It's better to replace with some high tensile bolts.
Just take it to Birchdown, they sorted mine when I had exactly...
It's quite common to leak from the breather plate, I'd check that first. The bolts are very soft so be very careful if you do remove them.
You may find some of them have already snapped off.
I use the breaker bar to loosen them and then one of those cross brace things to spin them off. I find it a bit tedious trying to spin the breaker bar.
UCH is what controls all the electrics and it also plays a part in the immobiliser system.
There is other cheap bits you can replace before assuming it's that though.
I'm not really sure what you mean by "swapping receivers".
Personally I'd get the engine service done at the same time as the belt change as you're supposed to put fresh oil in when you change the dephaser afaik.
I mentioned this to the guys at Birchdown as I was there today and they said purely off the symptoms I've described to them that it could be MAP sensor or the PAS senosr (if that's the right name?).
Wow, that sounds excessive.
I paid £150 to remove and refit gearbox. Then it's just the cost of a rebuild, I've seen people pay £500 for a FULL rebuild before.
