All you do is cable tie the sensor out of the way and put a bolt in it's place. You can get into trouble over here too but you're unlikely to get found out.

When you said no fifth gear I assumed it was because it either wouldn't go in at all or it kept jumping out.

Well I can confirm it was the gearbox and it's completely failed now, kept jumping out of 5th so I used 4th until it jumped out and locked itself up.

Are you still driving the car Nick? It's just that when mine started popping out of 5th it wasn't long until the box completely shut up shop.

Varies depending on service intervals. You have to do the belts aswell so I think it's about 4 hours.

From a track point of view a phase 1 is better.

Will it not be the jets on the bonnet that are blocked? If so just use a pin to unblock them.

The car has just today developed a loud knocking noise from the front end which is louder on the nearside which leads me to believe that its the gearbox. The noise is only noticeable around 40mph+ in any gear but in 5th it whines aswell. There is no noise whatsoever if I put it into neutral...
