this got heated…!
I know the garage that looked at it, and I know they are competent enough to not mess up compression test, but they aren't specialists in Audi's so weren't too confident.
Heard from my boss today it's gone to another garage who are rally specialists (don't know why) but they...
Sorry mate, didn't see your first post earlier.
Starter is 100% turning, seen it with my own eyes. Looking back now it was whirring much quicker, i.e no compression. Didn't think that at the time though.
Cam chain is in tact from what we're told.
Would all the valves be bent, hence no...
I'd like to think they've done that, or something along those lines.
I'm more interested in a possible cause, assuming that they were correct and absolutely no pressure in any cylinder?
Is that a pretty standard thing to do?
From what they've said theres literally no way of even getting any pressure in to hear it escaping, but I did hear second hand from my boss. But we've both got a good idea of how engines work.
Just seems very strange how it was running perfectly at 8am...
I did think that, but apparently they compression tested 2 other cars to make sure their gear was fine and they came up as expected. They are a good garage to be fair so I don't think they'd be missing obvious stuff or misusing stuff.
Whats one of those dude?
Right then, need some help/answers if possible.
Fit girl at work has a 10 plate TT petrol Turbo on 44k and we think it's fooked. Wednesday morning she pulled up at work and it was running fine, just like normal, she comes to leave and the car won't start at all. It turns over and the starter...
Ended up buying some waterproof Weise leathers, some good boots (that I've forgotten the make of now!) and a Shoei dog dangles helmet, so spent just over £1k today…oops!
Hoping it's a reasonable day tomorrow so I can get a decent first ride in.
Also been clearing some proper space to store...
Yeah plate isn't to my preference either but that's all I've got at the minute, going to get another ordered as soon as I can.
I'm not really using it for commuting but if it's a nice day and I'm free in the evening I might use it for work then go for a ride straight after on the way home, only...
If you've come off one I can completely understand then mate!
Thanks James.
I know what you mean. I guess I'm confident in my own abilities. Yeah someone could pull out on me etc, but I could get T Boned by a bus in a car and end up the same so f**k it!
Just hoping for a dry weekend this week.
It's a weird one I guess, I had field bikes from about 12/13 and a few bikes on the road between 19-22, I'm 25 now so kind of grown up with them. I can understand nerves from someone who's never been on one.
I'm not a nutcase rider by any means, but it is easier than you think!
Hard to explain really as you just do it rather than think about it to be honest!
I decided to get back on a bike!
Few mates have done their tests now so will have some riding buddies, so spotted this last night and picked it up tonight.
Absolutely love it, missed having a bike!
The noise is mental, has an actuator valve linked to the throttle so it's pretty good for morning...
I know the standard answer will be 'ring your insurer' but they aren't open now!
I've got 4/5 chips in my windscreen after the last couple of days, so wanting to get them filled in, do I just call AutoGlass and that's it?
What happens with insurance, do they do it all? Is it really free, or...
I had digital TV in my M3 and it was a bit of a gimmick to be honest, but the handful of times I got stuck in gridlock traffic for a long time it was brilliant!
Signal will not work when driving though, at least mine didn't.
Massive credit to you Laura, so what you've wasted some money, the memories and fun will outweigh that in the grand scheme of things 10:1.
I'm very tempted to do the same thing.
Best place to go dude would be McEwans garage in Derby, he's an Alfa specialist but has the best kit anywhere local and does a proper job.
Will be more like £70 but well worth it - proper perfectionist.
He did my M3 and was literally like a different car even though it showed ok at ETS in Derby.
No dude but it has got a spare wheel and trolley jack in the boot so it does look a bit lower at the back.
It's going to court dude but feel free to make me a very good offer if you want!
Just got back from sheffield dude and I should't be driving for the next week to be honest, little bit...
It's uncomfortable beyond belief which doesn't help, but I'm not fussed by it at all! Love getting in the Porsche any chance I get but not this.
If it drove half as good as it looks then it would be 10 times better than it is, in my opinion.
Putting the power down is almost impossible!
Nothing now, but bought it with cracked wheels and the garage haven't sorted it out etc so currently waiting a court date for them to have the car back for a full refund under sale of goods act. Theres a thread up about it all on here if you're bored.
Does look so good sat in the yard!
Not had chance to clean the FRS since before Christmas and even though it's done very few miles it was absolutely caked in shite.
Nothing special but did use the 3 bucket method as only one to rinse in was never enough as shown from my pic below!
Such a shame I've lost the love and it's not as...
They aren't as bad as you might think mate from my research, certainly less than an E46 M3!
The RS just isn't for me so I'm not it's biggest fan, it feels fast with the push of torque but I don't think the Boxster would be a million miles behind it, and even if it is it's a much better car than...
They are awesome, I've had quite a few 'drivers' cars and this is by far the best, although the M3 was very very close.
Cheers mate. Drop me a pm if you ever go, I'll tag along!
Not too sure yet, doing a Euro trip at Easter so tempted to get something mental just for that and sell...
Woke up on a day off today and saw a bit of sunshine and thought I'd take the Boxster on the first proper drive since buying it late last year, so planned to head to Snakes Pass in the Peaks via a decent little run through some nice back roads. ended up clocking 143 miles exactly and found some...
